Timothée Chalamet has said he is 'forever indebted' to a sweet fan who encouraged a lacklustre crowd to cheer for him at a Marty Supreme Q&A in .
The actor, 30, and his A Complete Unknown co-star , 27, arrived to a sea of fans at the film event, which was hosted at Los Feliz 3 Theatre on Thursday.
But as the exclusive chat kicked off, he shared a touching moment with a fan who had saved him from being greeted by an awkwardly quiet audience.
When Timothée was welcomed on stage by Elle, the crowd did not immediately cheer for the star, prompting an eager spectator to urge a more enthusiastic response by cheering for the the actor as he took the stage.
Noticing that a front-row fan sparked the crowd's warm welcome, Timothée delayed the Q&A to express his gratitude to the fan.
Picking up the mic on the stage, he told the supporter: 'Hey man, I appreciate you trying to get it going. I saw that man, I am forever indebted to you.'

The actor plays the titular character in Marty Supreme, which is loosely modelled on Marty Reisman, who pursues his dream of becoming a champion table tennis player
The movie was released in the UK on Boxing Day and co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, who came out of retirement for the role as Marty's older love interest.
