Cate Blanchett rocked an androgynous look as she stepped out for the opening of Julian Rosefeldt’s world famous Manifesto exhibition in Poland on Sunday.

The Aussie actress donned a tailored brown suit, a plaid shirt and a pair of aptly named ‘Untraditional’ sneakers.

The 55-year-old star showcased her distinct personal style in the comfortable, yet coordinated ensemble.

She appeared alongside Julian to open the exhibition, which she stars in playing thirteen different characters, at the Centre Of Contemporary Art as part of the 32nd Energa Camerimage Film Festival.

Cate is known for her impeccable red carpet appearances, where she’s regularly seen dripping in diamonds and designer gowns, but her off-duty style is just as notable.

In London last week, the Australian actress turned heads in a striking double-denim co-ord at the star-studded Letters Live fundraiser.

The Rumours star also loves a statement shoe.

When she’s not stalking down a red carpet in a tailored pant that requires a stiletto, the controversial platform clog appears to be Cate’s go-to.

Tucked underneath the long tailoring of her suit, her Italian-made, round toe sneakers slightly boosted the star’s height on Sunday.

The ‘Untraditional low-top sneaker’, by luxury sneaker brand Hogan, exists somewhere between a pair of loafers, clogs, and a sneaker because of its chunky laces.

It is made from canvas, coated fabric, and leather backing and features a round toe line, geometric heel and rubber cleated sole.

The company was founded in the ’80s to ‘break away from the strict division between formal and informal’, something Cate often exhibits in her style.

While Cate’s exact shoe is no longer for sale, it retails for somewhere north of USD$550 secondhand.

For Manifesto, German artist Julian Rosefeldt worked with Cate to give new life to some of the most famous and provocative writings by artists of the modern era.

‘I think in the last ten years the piece has become more and more relevant,’ Cate said during her appearance at the opening. ‘Particularly, the part about truth.’

‘Julian is an extraordinary creator of character, which is what I normally peddle in on a day to day basis.

‘But making this was one of the happiest nine days’ of my life. Because it was so kamikaze.’

In Australia, the exhibit has been co-commissioned by the ACMI – Australian Centre for the Moving Image Melbourne, the Art Gallery of New South Wales Sydney.
