For Casey Donovan, the secret to weight loss success is dialling down the food noise – as well as a little help.
The Australian Idol winner, 36, has been candid in the past about her struggles with diet and weight loss programs.
The vocal powerhouse revealed, back in 2022, that she weighed less then 100kgs for the first time in her adult life.
Casey, who revealed that she has been on her own weight loss journey over the ‘past few months’ has partnered with weight loss program Juniper to help to achieve her goals.
Juniper offers a program that combines injectable medication like Wegovy or Mounjaro with health coaching and dietician support.
Casey told Daily Mail Australia that partnership came about at the perfect time.

‘I’ve kind of been on, I guess, my own little journey through health and fitness in the last few months when they approached [me],’ Casey said.
She added that, with medication already a part of her weight loss regimen, she was looking for some extra help and direction.
‘I kind of I sat with it and being already that I was already on a form of medication, I was kind of at that point where I needed that extra bit of help, she said.
‘It kind of came at the perfect time, because I was trying to just bumble through life with all the other things that I knew that I picked up from other weight loss programs. Just kind of fumbling my way through.’
Casey who is currently starring as Delores Van Cartier in Sister Act: The Musical, said that life on the road can be a difficult one for someone watching their weight.
She said that Juniper’s holistic, round-the-clock approach was an attractive proposition.
‘I lead a very, very busy lifestyle, you know, touring around the country is not easy,’ Casey said.
‘They’ve [Juniper] kind of given me this plan that kind of adapts to my life and the way I operate.

While Casey remained tight lipped on any weight loss figures, having only been on the program for two weeks, she did admit that she is already seeing positive results.
‘The energy, the clarity…for me food noise is massive,’ Casey explained.
‘Food noise for me is like a workaholic – just one more email. Just one more meeting and I can just do that, and you sit up late till it’s 3:00 a.m and you’re like, “I need to go to bed”.’
Casey said it has been constant throughout her life.
‘I never knew what full meant,’ she said. ‘Not only did I have full like food noise, I also never knew when to turn off.’
‘I would just eat until I felt violently ill and then eat some more.’
She added that since beginning the regimen, the volume on her food noise has been dialled down to almost zero.

‘I was constantly just thinking about what I could eat. I wasn’t hungry. All of my life. I’ve just had that constant noise,’ she said.
‘In the last few weeks that noise has gone to the point where now I’m asking my dietitian:”Do I need to set an alarm to remember to eat?”‘
Casey added that while life on the road can be tough, especially without her fiancée Renee Sharples by her side, she’s having an easier time.
‘I’m in Adelaide without my fiancée at the minute, so you know, I’m left to my own devices, so to speak.
‘But a day on the plate for me is, and it’s been for a few weeks now, is just a protein shake with some mixed berries. That’s how I start my day.’
‘I thoroughly enjoy some corn thins. I’ll have some corn things with some light Philadelphia cheese and some salmon. It’s like a salmon smash.
‘I do that with capers and dill, and you smash it all up, and then just put that on a few corn thins, and that to me is digestible, which means I can still do my job.’
‘For dinner, it really just depends how I’m feeling,’ she said.

‘I’ll come home and have a protein shake with some more berries and try and fatten that up. I’m also thoroughly enjoying a green smoothie, which is basically how I’m trying to get all of my nutrition in.
‘It’s got green kale, green apple, cucumber, lemon, spinach celery, and coconut water, and it’s so delicious and also so fulfilling.’
Aside from her weight loss journey, Casey certainly isn’t resting on her laurels in 2025.
‘I’m also doing another musical kind of on the back of Sister Act called Kimberly Akimbo with the one and only Marina Pryor, and it’s going to be such a great show. And then also somehow I’ve managed to record an EP in the craziness that’s happening.
‘There’s a lot happening in 2025 and 2026: feeling healthier, more musicals, and hopefully somewhere in there a little break.’
