Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little express outrage over doctor’s controversial health advice to 11-year-old with endometriosis

Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little were shocked after a listener shared the advice a doctor gave her when she was just 11-years-old.

The woman named Indy, 21, told Hit Network’s drive show hosts she had severe pain when she started her period for the first time.

She visited a doctor with her mother and was told the only way to ‘fix the pain was to have a baby’.

‘It’s shocking for everyone to hear that,’ a stunned Tommy said.

Indy explained she suffered from pain for another five years until she found a doctor who completed several tests and later confirmed she had endometriosis.

‘I had a twisted fallopian tube and it had fallen. I had scars tissue everything so they think it was maybe a cyst that had caused it,’ she explained.

‘Now I have lost that ovary so I’m left with one. I’ve also had stage four endometriosis removed.’

Indy revealed she is also going to start the process of freezing her eggs as it will be more difficult for her to start a family in the future.

She told the hosts several doctors ignored the pain she was suffering and ‘told me it was all in my head.’

Carrie admitted: ‘It makes me so angry.’

The interview on their radio show comes amid rumours Carrie and Tommy are set to join the cast of I’m A Celebrity Australia.

As speculation continues over a romantic entanglement between the pair, it seems Channel 10 could be looking to capitalise on fan interest in the attractive HIT radio duo.

The network is ‘open to the idea’ of a double act in season 10, with viewers expected to tune in to watch their chemistry unfold, reported Woman’s Day last week.

The source went on to say Carrie, 43, is also ‘itching to get back on TV screens’ after she left The Project in November 2022.
