They had one of the most iconic party tracks of the '80s and their biggest hit is still played regularly at parties and on the radio.

And two key members of this band were pictured at the Save The Chimps' 25th Anniversary Gala in New York on Tuesday.

Do YOU recognise these music stars almost 40 years on?

Beehive loving Kate Pierson, 77, and Fred Schneider, 74, both attended the event at Gotham Hall, sporting their own unique sense of style.

Kate was sporting her trademark red hair and wore a contrasting green suit, while her wife Monica wore a bold yellow camouflage suit.

So can you guess who it is yet? That's right, they are the band, the B-52's. Their song Love Shack, released in 1989, is one of pop's most energetic songs.

According to the BBC, the song was inspired by singer Katie's own house, just outside Athens, Georgia, where the band had created songs such as Rock Lobster and Private Idaho.

She said: 'It was a little tenant farmer's house and it really was a love shack. It had a wood stove and no running water and a tin roof, rusted. It was a funky little shack.'

While the shack housed some fantastic parties, it sadly burned down after a fire in 2004.

Next, the band are coming to the UK in June as part of their farewell tour and Kate has said she cannot wait because she is such an Anglophile.

She said: 'My wife Monica and I have Britbox, so we watch all the British dramas and drink tea.

'I hate to say it, because it's such a tourist cliché, but I really want to visit Downton Abbey.'

The band announced their 'final tour ever on Planet Earth' in 2022, but keep extending it.

They are set to play a Las Vegas residency in April, before coming over to Europe.

Kate said she first started modelling her iconic red beehive in 1976 to combat shyness saying 'you don't get nervous if you dress up and wear a wig.'
