Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s son Cruz’s third birthday party, which took place at a trampoline park the San Fernando Valley on Saturday afternoon, ended in an unexpectedly messy way.
The 44-year-old reality television personality and his 35-year-old estranged wife, who reunited for the event, were first spotted as they brought their son into the facility, after which the two interacted with several of their guests.
The Vanderpump Rules stars – who separated earlier this year – later attempted to blow out the candles on their son’s cake, although it fell to the ground when the table it had been situated on suddenly collapsed.
The incident was caught by Cartwright’s close friend and the pair’s castmate from The Valley, Zack Wickham, who added a text graphic to the post that read: ‘Never a dull moment.’
The reality television personality shared a second clip that showed several of the trampoline park’s crew members attempting to put the cake back together after bringing in a new table.

The Bravo star appeared to take the incident in stride, and she jokingly told the party’s guests that, as ‘nothing touched the ground…we can still eat it.’
This past February it was revealed that the pair had officially separated after four years of marriage.
Brittany recently spoke about hitting her ‘breaking point’ in sexless marriage to Jax and claims they’ve discussed the possibility of ‘seeing other people’ amid their separation.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, the Vanderpump Rules alum said that her and Taylor’s sex life had ‘dwindled so much’ in recent years and that it began to affect her self esteem.
‘I felt like I wasn’t good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn’t want you and they’re also being mean to you, it’s like, “What am I doing here?” I’m basically living with a roommate. I hit my breaking point,’ she explained.
She has denied that infidelity is the reason for her and her husband’s separation.
In a Daily Dish interview, Brittany said, ‘We just had our issues with fighting with each other.
‘There wasn’t any infidelity. I know that’s been a rumor going around. It wasn’t anything like that.’

She explained, ‘It was just not a happy feeling, and I was like, losing my sparkle a little bit.
‘I started to notice that, and I think after I had my son, I woke up a little bit and it made me realize, like, he can’t grow up in this environment.’
Taylor and Cartwright initially met in 2015, and they made their relationship Instagram official in May of that year.
The pair made their debut as a couple on Vanderpump Rules that November, and they remained with the program from 2013 until 2020.
The couple became the subject of a spinoff series entitled Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky, which ran for a single season in 2017.
Although the couple briefly separated that year, they went on to become engaged in June of 2018, and they tied the knot during a wedding ceremony that took place in the latter’s home state of Kentucky the following June.
The pair waited until the following September to reveal that they were planning on starting a family, and Cartwright went on to give birth to Cruz in April of 2021.
Cartwright recently spoke to People and told the media outlet that she, as well as her estranged husband, were ‘doing a really good job going back and forth’ with their son.

The reality television personality then stated that she and Taylor had made efforts to remain heavily involved in Cruz’s life.
‘I’ll also take him to the house and play and we’ll swim one day or have him play on his play set and we’ll do different things. Jax will take him to Sky Zone, or he’ll take him to the park one day,’ she said.
The Bravo star concluded by stating that she, as well as her spouse, considered their son’s well-being to be ‘the most important thing’ in their lives.
‘I think it’s honestly been better because we aren’t fighting in front of him. And for me, I think that’s what is most important, right now. Because that’s why I had to get him out of that situation in the first place,’ she stated.
