Broadway actress Lynda Gravatt, known for her roles in Sex And The City and Law & Order: SVU, passes away at 77; Viola Davis pays tribute

Versatile stage and screen actress Lynda Gravatt has died at the age of 77, her family shared on Wednesday.

The actress was best known for her roles on Broadway in such productions as The Old Settler, Crowns, Intimate Apparel, Miss Witherspoon, The Little Foxes and The House That Will Not Stand.

The New Yorker was also the under study for Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

And Lynda also starred on several TV shows over the decades. Gravatt had a guest starring roles on Sex And The City opposite Sarah Jessica Parker and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. 

She was regular on The Hoop Life from 1999 until 2000.

Her friend Viola Davis shared a tribute: 'Nooooo!!! Oh no!!! I loved you in every way. Great working with you, laughing with you, sharing your infinite wisdom. Rest well my friend. I love you❤️❤️'

The thespian was also in the Denzel Washington movie Roman J. Israel, Esq from 2017.

Her son David Gravatt told The Hollywood Reporter that she died last Friday in a New Brunswick, New Jersey hospital.
