Britney Spears’ surprising nod to ex Justin Timberlake two years after abortion bombshell

Britney Spears gave a surprising nod to her ex Justin Timberlake on her Instagram post shared on Saturday – nearly two years after the abortion bombshell.

The Baby One More Time songstress, 43 – who recently called out men that have ‘disrespected’ her in bed – uploaded a since-deleted clip from a shopping excursion during a recent getaway to Mexico.

As she was joined by a pal during the fun outing, she added the track Carry Out in the background – the hit 2009 song by Timbaland which also featured Timberlake.

It comes after Spears made explosive claims in her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me about their past tumultuous relationship, such as alleging that Justin had urged her to have an abortion when they were dating.

Britney was stylishly casual in the video and donned an off-the-shoulder yellow shirt as well as a pair of white shorts.

She additionally slipped into open-toed, tan heels and allowed her blonde locks to flow down in light waves past her shoulders.

It comes after Spears made explosive claims in her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me about their past tumultuous relationship, such as alleging that Justin had urged her to have an abortion when they were dating; seen in 2001 

The performer accessorized the look with colorful bracelets as well as a pair of white-rimmed sunglasses. 

Spears showed off her outfit in the reel while strolling down a quaint street that was lined with flags. 

The star also stopped to quickly pose on a parked motorcycle before continuing to explore the area. But not long after uploading the post, Britney took it down from her main page. 

The Toxic hitmaker and Timberlake previously dated from 1999 until their split in 2002. 

In her 2023 memoir, Spears made bombshell claims as she wrote about their past romance – and alleged that the former N Sync member had urged her to have an abortion when she became pregnant at the age of 19. 

She stated in the book that it had been ‘one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.’ 

Britney also added, ‘It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. 

‘He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.’

The songstress continued, ‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.’

Britney later welcomed sons Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, with ex Kevin Federline. It was revealed late last year that the pop star has rekindled her relationship with her children.

Justin is also father to Silas, 10, and Phineas, four – whom he welcomed with wife Jessica Biel. 

At the time the claims came to light, a source told DailyMail.com: ‘Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her. She was there and is just telling it from her point of view.

‘That does not mean he is okay with it. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book.’ 

The insider added, ‘Doing this book has given Britney life and she really doesn’t care who is offended by anything in it because it is what happened.

‘She was there and lived through it. No one can say anything. She has got this all out of her and is moving on now.’

In early 2024, Spears apologized for ‘some of the things’ in her best-selling memoir – which is currently being developed into a biopic.

A separate source also told DailyMail.com at the time, ‘Justin has decided that he will never get the respect from Britney’s fans and Janet [Jackson’s] fans so he isn’t going to cater to them anymore.’ 

He performed alongside Janet during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004 – but also received backlash from fans when he did not defend Jackson when her breast was accidentally exposed during the performance. 

Timberlake ‘intends to be himself and only treats things in his mind fairly. Britney called him out in her book, he’s had a constant back-and-forth with her over the years that will never end.’

The insider continued, ‘When he apologized originally, it got him nowhere, so now he is just dealing with it the one way he has to and that is not putting much care to anyone’s feelings but his own.’

Britney’s since-deleted post this weekend is not the first time that she made a nod to her ex.

Last month in March, she uploaded a clip of her dancing to Instagram while Timberlake’s song Senorita played in the background. 

And over the past weekend, Britney jumped to social media to also call out men who have ‘disrespected’ her in bed. 

Alongside a post of her posing in lingerie, the star wrote to her fans: ‘I might look really pretty but I’ve never shared myself with a man in lingerie that REALLY made me feel beautiful and sacred.

‘I’m not even lying… my closet was incredibly insane because it was a space for my soul and there had been waaaay too many times I had been incredibly disrespected in bed.’

She then asked, ‘Why the f**k would I ever share the real delicacy of the feeling I actually get when I do feel beautiful???’ 

When it came to exposing her ‘real heart’ to past lovers, the singer said that she feared it ‘would utterly and completely destroy’ her. 

Britney then seemingly referenced to ex-husband Sam Asghari and added, ‘So [that] kinda f**ked up a 6 year relationship.’ 

She explained that she preferred to ‘share’ herself ‘with the world than men have utterly and completely destroyed’ her own heart. 

It came not long after the singer sparked up new fears when she was seen carrying a toy baby doll while at the airport in Mexico earlier this month.
