Avril Lavigne’s on-off romance with the rapper Tyga has been brought definitively to a close, it was claimed this week.
They first went public with their romance this March, only for rumors to begin flying in June that they had broken up.
However they were then spotted together at a Las Vegas event over Fourth Of July weekend, igniting an explosion of conjecture that they were back on.
Now, though, an insider has informed People that they only briefly got back together and their relationship is now ‘totally over.’
Tyga and Avril were first spotted together in February of this year, in the immediate aftermath of her split from her fiancé Mod Sun.

Mod, who previously hit the headlines for his long-term relationship with Bella Thorne, was involved with Avril for three years.
After his relationship with Avril ended in February, Mod publicly revealed that he was ‘blindsided’ by her decision to break their engagement.
Shortly thereafter, Avril was spotted out with Tyga, who achieved international notoriety for dating Kylie Jenner when she was a teen and he in his 20s.
Rumors started circulating that Avril’s romance with Tyga overlapped with her engagement to Mod, but an insider has denied as much to DailyMail.com.
‘Avril didn’t cheat on Mod,’ said the source, a close friend of Avril’s. ‘She was simply over his BS and Tyga was an easy distraction.’
In June, it emerged that Avril and Tyga had brought the curtain down on their romance, which she allegedly never took that seriously.
‘It came down to this,’ the same friend of hers revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘Avril didn’t want to be locked into anything. Tyga was a rebound and he helped her get away from her toxic relationship with Mod Sun.’
However, once Fourth Of July weekend rolled around, Avril and Tyga were glimpsed together enjoying Marshmello’s set at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas.
An insider exclusively observed to DailyMail.com that Tyga appeared to be ‘in boyfriend mode’ during his interaction with Avril.

‘While they laughed, smiled and were carrying on when she joined him and their entourages at VIP, they definitely didn’t care if anyone saw them together. To everyone that was watching them, it seemed like they were the only ones in the building,’ the source divulged.
‘Both were seemingly very interested in each other equally as they were often very eye to eye while deep into conversation. They had a very unique connection. There wasn’t kissing or handholding but it seemed like they were going to jump each other when they got beyond closed doors, there was an electricity between them both.
‘When they finally left, Tyga was very protective and acted like he was in boyfriend mode as he guided her with his hand on the small of her back on the way out.
‘No one mentioned that they were dating again throughout their time there, but the time they had together looked as if they rekindled something.’
