Steve revealed that he is second cousins with the English football icon, sharing the unexpected family link during an exclusive interview with Daily Mail.
Steve explained that the connection comes through his mother's side of the family, revealing his grandmother was a Beckham before marriage.
'He's my second cousin,' Steve said.
'My grandmother on my mum's side was a Beckham before she married my grandfather. Me and David were both born in Essex in East London and we were born just seven days apart,' he continued.

Steve, who was born on April 23, said Beckham arrived shortly after on May 2, calling the timing a funny coincidence given their shared family roots.
'It's quite a famous connection, I guess,' he admitted.
'It's a very cool one to have, I must admit.'

While Steve says he has never officially met Beckham's wife Victoria, he did briefly cross paths with the football superstar as a teenager.
'When I was about 16, I was back in London and met him in the same room, but that was when he was already playing soccer and travelling a lot,' he said.
'He wasn't really around like a regular kid.'
Steve joked that Beckham clearly scored the genetic jackpot among the cousins.
'I think he got the looks and the money, unfortunately, out of the cousins,' he laughed.

The revelation comes as Steve continues to navigate his relationship with Rebecca on the show, with viewers watching their bond slowly unfold following a warm and hopeful wedding day.
Reflecting on their first meeting, Steve said he felt an immediate sense of calm and optimism.
'We had such a nice day. Our families got along and we had a really nice connection,' he said.
'It gave me happy memories watching it back.'

While he admitted physical attraction was not instant, Steve said Rebecca's warmth and personality quickly won him over.
'When someone's kind, genuine and has a good sense of humour, that makes them more attractive to me,' he explained. 'That definitely shone straight away.'

'I've got my kids, but you still want to share your life with someone. I didn't want to meet someone when I'm 60 and feel like you've got less time to create memories.'
As for whether the Beckhams might be tuning in to watch his MAFS journey unfold, Steve says word has already started filtering back to the UK.
'My family in London have already seen clips,' he revealed.
'Whether David and Victoria are actually watching, I'm not sure – but you'd be amazed who watches the show.'
While Steve insists he is not chasing fame, he admits the Beckham link has certainly added an unexpected twist to his reality TV debut.

'Who knows?' he said. 'Maybe one day we'll catch up.'
For now, Steve is focused on seeing where things go with Rebecca – and letting Australia see exactly who he is.
'I just want people to see me for who I am,' he said.
'I'm genuine, I'm kind, and what you see is what you get.'
