The comedian, 51, is one of several big-names bosses are believed to be keen to sign up, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: 'Producers think David would be an amazing contestant.

'Not only is he hilarious, but he's also super smart — in many ways, he will remind viewers of Stephen Fry, who went down great with viewers in series one.

'No doubt David's time on Would I Lie To You? will be both helpful and a hindrance when it comes to being at the round table.'

Filming for the reality spin-off series two will start in the Scottish Highlands in May and Claudia Winkleman, 54, will again host the show at 19th-century Ardross Castle.

Steve Pemberton is also reportedly being lined up for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors.

The League of Gentlemen star, 58, has reportedly been in talks with producers since publicly expressing his love for the show when it first launched in 2022.

A TV insider said: 'Signing Steve would fill the slot for a celebrity who is obsessed with the mechanics behind the programme.

'It was a role filled last year by Jonathan Ross, who was a long-time devotee and became one of the programme's 'big dogs'.

'As an award-winning actor who can transform himself from one character to another, Steve would be a similar figure and a formidable contestant for the players to contend with.'

Amanda Holden is also reportedly being eyed up to take part in the series after her best pal Alan Carr won the 2025 run of the show.

After first encouraging the chatty man to sign up for the series, she is said to now be keen to join herself, according to The Sun.

But Amanda will struggle with finding the filming time as she would have to juggle her BGT responsibilities and her radio presenting.

A TV insider told the publication: 'Filming for The Celebrity traitors takes place in the Scottish Highlands at the same time that BGT semi-finals are filmed live in London on a Saturday night.

'It's not impossible for her to be given some time off, but it isn't the only work she'd have to juggle.

Alison Hammond is also reportedly in talks with BBC bosses to appear on the next series of The Celebrity Traitors.

The ITV presenter, 50, is believed to be 'keen' to make an appearance on the show as Beeb bosses are convinced she will be 'comedy gold', according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: 'The Beeb thinks she could be comedy gold, just like Alan Carr.

'Alison is naturally very funny and they think she could end up being hugely successful.

'The pot of talent wanting to take part is overflowing, so they have a lot to weigh up.'

It is believed that contracts will not be signed until later in the year, but they are 'keen' for her to sign.

Other a-listers such as Danny Dyer and Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones are also said to be on the list of potential celebrities signing up for the show.

An average audience of 11.1 million tuned in for the grand finale that saw Traitor Alan, 49, hoodwink Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga into believing he was a Faithful.

With a peak of 12 million viewers, it was the BBC's biggest overnight audience since Gavin & Stacey's Christmas special last year.

Viewers watched in awe and bewilderment as Alan snatched the £87,500 prize, despite his previous claims that he was as bad a Traitor as series three star Linda Rands.

Alan's surprise win came as a result of Nick, 45, and David, 55, turning on fellow Faithful Joe Marler at the last minute in a shock twist that left viewers reeling

Despite Joe, 35, correctly guessing that Alan and Cat Burns, 25, were the remaining Traitors, he failed to convince the others and found himself being banished at the last minute.
