Jennifer Aniston's accused stalker has been released from jail after months of deliberations, the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal.

Mississippi man Jimmy Carwyle, 49, was arrested on May 5, 2025, after he rammed his Chrysler PT Cruiser into the gates of the actress' $21million Bel Air, California property while she was at home, causing over $50,000 in damages and leaving Aniston, 56, living in 'fear'.
Carwyle was charged with felony vandalism and felony stalking. He pleaded not guilty. A Los Angeles judge, however, found him not competent to stand trial.
Carwyle initially objected to the incompetence finding and asked for a second opinion. A hearing to resolve the matter was then postponed several times.
Now, the Daily Mail can now reveal that, following further expert evaluation, Carwyle has been given a treatment plan as part of a mental health diversion program for life outside of jail.
According to court documents seen by the Daily Mail, a judge has ordered him to 'take all prescribed medications,' and said Carwyle 'shall not leave the program without permission, shall not consume illicit drugs, marijuana, or alcohol, and shall not possess dangerous or deadly weapons.'

The judge also ordered that he 'be placed in the smallest available home program within the Office of Diversion and Reentry,' and that he 'enroll and participate with a contingency management program for treatment of stimulant narcotics addiction.'
In addition, Carwyle must wear an ankle monitor with GPS monitoring and has been ordered 'to stay away at least one mile from, and have no contact with the victim, her home and any of her representatives or agents.'
On November 17, he was released from custody and transferred to the facility where he currently remains.

On December 18, a '1368 PC Progress Report' was filed meaning a court-ordered evaluation was filed with an update on Carwyle's mental competency status. Another progress report was carried out on January 29.
It is doubtful this has came as a relief to Aniston, whose lawyers had previously insisted that he be sent to a 'locked state hospital.'
In a September 5 filing seen by the Daily Mail, Aniston's lawyers said the actress was living in 'ongoing fear that Mr. Carwyle will continue to fixate on her and likely return to stalking her at the first available juncture' until he 'gets the appropriate treatment, in the appropriate setting.'
Carwyle was described as being 'psychotic (even with some medication adherence) with hyper-religious thoughts and delusions alongside 'erotomanic delusions,' which her lawyers believe could have led to 'far worse consequences' when he crashed into her home had it not been for Aniston's 'security measures.'
Erotomania is a rare delusion in which an individual firmly believes that another person, usually a celebrity or someone of higher status, is deeply in love with them.

Carwyle allegedly stalked Aniston, 56, at her $21 million Bel-Air home (pictured). On November 19, 2024, he told security at her driveway that he has been 'communicating with the protectee via email and wanted to see the protectee. He identified himself as Christ'
Aniston's lawyers argued that although Carwyle had a 'limited' criminal history, it nonetheless 'represents a significant risk when coupled with his clearly deteriorating mental health history'. He previously admitted to domestic violence charges and that he 'liked getting high [on methamphetamine].'
The Daily Mail can reveal that her lawyer's filing claims that Carwyle also 'has an extensive history of severe alcohol, marijuana, and methamphetamine abuse, of which he seems to have both a tenuous grasp and very little interest in curtailing, as evidenced by his admissions that he was "a blackout drunk for five years".' Carwyle has denied that he has a mental illness.
Aniston's lawyers concluded that 'releasing the Defendant to the community is both dangerous and represents a far less clinically effective and risky path for Defendant's optimal mental health treatment.'
According to Petition for Mental Health Diversion documents filed in August 2025, lawyers for Carwyle informed the court that a doctor had diagnosed him with 'schizophrenia, alcohol use disorder and cannabis use disorder.'

Another doctor is also said to have diagnosed him with an unspecified schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorder back in May. Both doctors, however, agreed that antipsychotic medication was 'medically appropriate and likely to be effective.'
Carwyle is believed to have targeted Aniston for two years from 2023, often referring to her as his 'wife' in multiple emails and voice notes.
According to court documents seen by the Daily Mail, he contacted the star on Instagram on July 30, 2023, and wrote: 'I am your husband, I am here to discuss things like our [sic] 3 children's names which I have in mind.'
Then in an email to Aniston's hair care company LolaVie on September 1 that year, he said: 'I need you to focus on me as your husband to Hun, serious about this to… I'm actually the one who can love you the way you deserve, need, and God intended, for I was made for you… So tell everyone your [sic] gonna have 3 children, an Immanuel, Isabella, and Sarah…'
According to court documents, he has been ordered to 'take all prescribed medications,' and 'shall not leave the program without permission, shall not consume illicit drugs, marijuana, or alcohol, and shall not possess dangerous or deadly weapons'

On October 16, 2024, his wife Julia Carwyle called around trying to get help as she knew her husband wanted to make contact with Aniston.
One month later on November 19 Carwyle told security at Aniston's driveway that he had been 'communicating with the protectee via email and wanted to see the protectee.' He 'identified himself as Christ.'
The following day, he left a voicemail referring to Aniston as his 'wife' and himself as 'Christ' once again and said he was frustrated that he couldn't get into 'our house'.
Another voicemail on November 21 saw Carwyle tell Aniston: 'If it takes half a million dollars to see you today, it can be worth every penny. I love you.' Two days later he said he needed an appointment with Aniston to 'discuss husband and wife issues, and business. He requested a date, time and place for the meeting.'

Julia, who previously spoke to the Daily Mail, said that her husband took multiple trips to try to meet the actress. The last time she saw him was in September 2024 before he left his hometown for California.
Julia noted she and Carwyle, a car mechanic, have been separated for 'a few years' after marrying in 2019. He has a daughter, Kelly, 23, from a previous relationship.
'We had been split up for a while and I was thinking, well, if you want to go meet, all power to you, but it's not going to work,' she said. 'I just couldn't believe any of this.'
Friends and acquaintances voiced their fears for Carwyle on Facebook after news of his arrest broke. One man, Marty Merritt, claimed Carwyle, who started attending the same church in 2019, was a 'good ol' boy' who would 'help people any way that he could.'

But he is said to have changed during the pandemic, when he started sending 'crazy, crazy messages' and claiming that 'God told him that he was supposed to go and marry Jennifer Aniston'. Merritt claimed he became mentally unstable because he started using drugs with another person.
Aniston has since increased security personnel around her home and has upgraded security measures to protect her privacy and safety.
The Emmy Award winner, whose boyfriend Jim Curtis recently listed his $1.5 million New York City apartment, is in the midst of upgrading a $7.5 million property she purchased earlier this year, which is next door to her mansion.
Building plans obtained by the Daily Mail suggest Aniston has plans to turn the new place into a guesthouse or an annex to her existing 8,500-square-foot property nearby, to create an enormous compound.
Meanwhile, for Carwyle, another progress report was filed on January 29. The minute order from the hearing stated that the next progress report hearing is scheduled for April 29 and that Carwyle has been ordered to appear via a video link.

The maximum commitment date for his program remains in place until October 15, 2027. His criminal proceeding remains suspended until he has completed treatment.
