The Britain's favourite duo are rumoured to be hosting an adaptation of the US hit programme called Holey Moley, where they will channel their passion for golf.

Ant, 50, and Dec, also 50, could now be in talks to present the UK version of the game show, titled A Hole In One.

'This would be the ideal show for Ant and Dec,' a source told The Sun.

'It would see contestants on a giant crazy golf course, mixing putting skills with physical challenges.

'It's fresh, fun, and sees players battle it out for a cash prize. The lads would have a real laugh making it.'

The TV programme is being worked on by BGT producers Fremantle as well as Ant and Dec's production company Mitre Studios, according to the sources.

The Daily Mail have contacted Ant and Dec's representatives and ITV for comment.

The pair both have holiday homes in golf resort Quinta do Lago, Portugal, and were initiated to the game 16 years ago after being converted by actor pal Jonathan Wilkes.

Ant said previously: 'I'd never been to a course in my life.

'They said, 'Won't be long before you're hooked'. We thought, 'No way'. It took about six weeks!'

Just earlier last month, the duo recalled their unlikely and 'embarrassing' royal sleepover with  at his Scottish home Dumfries House.

The TV pair, who were filming a documentary about the then-Prince, said how they accidentally bumped into him in their dressing gowns before later being warned to 'keep the noise down' while partying in their room.

Making the revelation during an appearance on The  Show, Ant laughed: 'We were following [the then-Prince] for a year for a TV show and got on really well with him.

'We were asked if we would like to spend the night at the house ahead of the final interview. We were like "Hell, yes." It was amazing and everything you'd imagine.

'I tried on the robe that was in my room and ran out into the corridor to find Dec and there was the Prince. He said "Hello," and started talking to me about pruning roses. I was so embarrassed.'

Dec said: 'We both have small kids and live further apart so if a podcast is in the diary, it forces us to get out and get together.

'We know each other inside out and we make each other laugh so hopefully people will like it.'

However he admitted wife Ali Astall and Ant's wife Anne-Marie Corbett were worried the pair would be too honest on the podcast and 'give too much away'.
