In the accompanying interview, the 43-year-old actress – – opened up about movies, marriage, and her perspective on beauty. 

'A filmmaker once told me this: Beauty can contain within it ugliness as long as it contains truth. So for me beauty always falls along those lines,' she answered when asked how she defines what's beautiful.

The silver screen siren also discussed how she stays in shape, shouting out her personal trainer.

'I love working out with Monique Eastwood,' she gushed. 'She’s a genius. She’s a former ballerina, so she’s put together ballet, HIIT, Pilates, yoga.'

The mother-of-two added, 'And I’m really lucky I get to have private sessions with her. We’ve been working together for over four years, and she’s just kind of changed everything and made it better.'

Elsewhere in her latest interview, Hathaway gushed that she's 'lucky' to have husband Adam Shulman; pictured in October 2025

'I didn’t like that the way into the question was, “How much weight did you have to lose?” And not, “How strong did you have to get in order to play that part?”' she expressed.

She explained, 'I felt protective about it because [director Christopher Nolan] specifically sat me down and said, “I don’t care about you losing weight, but I want you to be able to do all your own stunts.”'

Hathaway also noted that she learned to do her own stunts, like flipping backwards out of a window, with 'a lot of practice on a very high platform.'

The longtime entertainer has five films hitting theaters this year, including the musical-drama Mother Mary, which came out last week.

She plays the movie's titular pop star, who 'reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer, Sam Anselm, on the eve of her comeback performance,' per IMDb.

Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, Atheena Frizzell, Jessica Brown Findlay, FKA Twigs and Alba Baptista also star.

Hathaway recently told Stephen Colbert that Swift was an inspiration for the project, as director David Lowry is a big fan of the Grammy winner.

'I mean, she was kind of like an angel that I felt like was over our heads all the time,' she told the late night host.

'And I was influenced by her tour film Miss Americana and how vulnerable she just let herself be,' the actress added.
