Christmas in the Caribbean just wouldn’t be Christmas in the Caribbean without Andrea Corr and her annual festive pilgrimage to sunny Barbados, and so it proved as she hit the beach on Tuesday.

As always, the Irish star has jetted to the picturesque island for an extended end-of-year break, and she was hard to miss during her latest dip in the ocean on Boxing Day.

Sporting a white bikini-top and mismatched red bottoms, Andrea, 49, showed off her slender physique as she made the most of soaring winter temperatures.

The versatile singer and musician proved she has more than one string to her bow by racing into the water for a brief swim outside the island’s lavish Sandy Lane Hotel, where she and her family are regular visitors.

Andrea later made her way back to the beach, where she pulled on a wide-brimmed hat and breezy white summer dress while finding some welcome shade.

The brunette is back in Barbados after touring Australia and New Zealand with bandmates and siblings Jim, 59, Sharon, 53, and Caroline, 50.

The family-members wound their way across both countries with their current tour, The Corrs Down Under – their first series of live shows in seven years.

The group were in Australia last year for a one-off concert, which marked the first time in 21 years since they had visited the country.

Speaking to Australian radio station Triple M ahead of their return, Sharon said: ‘It makes sense to sing back in Australia as we had our first success in Australia as a band, so it’s lovely to go back.’

The musician also spoke of the family band and their shared talent, quipping: ‘We’ve often wondered over the years why one of us wasn’t a complete dud, like what are the chances.’

She added: ‘I mean, music is an amazing thing to do. We do love it. Our parents brought us up playing music, listening to music, listening to them. So we’re just been doing it our entire life.’
