Amy Madigan Presents Independent Spirit Award Ahead of Oscars

'If that happens, that would be really exciting, but you know, I don't have any answers to that kind of a thing.'

The Lee Strasberg alum told People on Saturday that her husband of 42 years, Ed Harris, and their 32-year-old daughter Lily Harris are both 'thrilled and happy' about her Weapons renaissance.

'I've had a lot of support, and my really good friends are just on my side, so it's been really nice,' Madigan said.

'I'm talking to a few more people [in the industry], which is very nice.'

Last month, the Emmy nominee shot a guest-star gig as Scarlett Cunningham in the Netflix limited series All The Sinners Bleed, which is showrunner Joe Robert Cole's small-screen adaptation of S.A. Cosby's 2023 novel.

Madigan has also been hard at work on the LA set of James Ponsoldt's AA psychological thriller Sponsor for Apple Original Films co-starring Jason Segel and John C. Reilly.

The Carnivàle alum and the 75-year-old Oscar nominee originally met in 1983 while portraying a Texan couple having an affair in Robert Benton's Depression-era drama, Places in the Heart.

The inseparable couple went on to co-star in Alamo Bay (1985), Field of Dreams (1989), Riders of the Purple Sage (1996), Pollock (2000), Just a Dream (2002), Unforgivable Blackness (2004), Winter Passing (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Virginia (2010), Once Fallen (2010), That's What I Am (2011), Sweetwater (2013), Frontera (2014), The Roosevelts: An Intimate History (2014), Rules Don't Apply (2016), Buried Child (2016), A Crooked Somebody (2017) and The Last Full Measure (2019).

'She's been going nuts because the whole award season is so insane, especially for a woman, from what you’re wearing to makeup, blah, blah, blah. But she's digging in on it. She's handling it pretty well, I got to say,' Harris told THR last month.

'I kind of know what she's going through and I've just been trying to be supportive.'

For instance, the Central Intelligence star has been cooking a lot so she doesn't have to.'

Harris's upcoming projects include John Patton Ford's inheritance black comedy How to Make a Killing (hitting US theaters this Friday), Josh Greenbaum's pickleball comedy The Dink and Paramount+ spin-off The Dutton Ranch.
