Alan Carr and Amanda Holden's hit BBC home renovation show could be rested this year after the comedian landed a castle-themed renovation series with rival streamer Disney+.

The comedian, 49, has been in high demand since emerging victorious on last year's star-studded BBC spin-off Celebrity Traitors.
Now, just three months on, Alan is producing a similar home renovations show titled Castle Man with the streamer, where he brings a Scottish castle back to life.
The new deal means Alan is unlikely to have time to film his and Amanda's hit BBC series The Italian Job this year amid his packed work schedule.
On top of that, the Celebrity Traitors winner has reportedly landed jobs with two other streamers set to begin this year, while his diary is already jam-packed after wiping out most of 2027 with a huge stand-up tour.

A source told The Sun: 'Alan and Amanda were already talking about taking a break in making their renovation shows.

They added: 'But recent events mean it’s going to be virtually impossible to resume the show anytime soon, particularly if the home renovation project on Disney+ is a success for Alan.'
Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and Alan and Amanda's representatives for comment.
Amanda and Alan's hit renovation series The Italian Job was previously reported as one of the biggest entertainment shows of the year when it aired.
The success of the fan-favourite programme quickly sparked a string of follow-ups, including their hugely popular Spanish Job, Greek Job and an Italian Job Christmas Special.
Their latest outing, Amanda & Alan's Greek Job, has proven to be their biggest success yet, pulling in an impressive four million viewers per episode.

The eight-part BBC renovation series follows best friends Amanda and Alan as they take on a crumbling property on the Greek island of Corfu.
Across the series, the duo battle structural disasters, design dilemmas and ambitious DIY projects as they attempt to transform the dilapidated home into a dream getaway.

News of the programme potentially being rested for the year comes days after the Daily Mail revealed Alan is set for another streaming project - The F*** List on Amazon Prime Video.
According to The Sun's TVBiz column, he will join fellow comics including Jack Dee, Tom Allen and Joanne McNally as they hit the road to experience some of the things people say you should do before you die.

This four-part series will see them visit Iceland and the Canary Islands, as well as locations in England and Scotland.
The programme is set to hit screens later this year.
An insider said: 'This is huge news for Alan who everyone thought would be snapped up by the Beeb after The Celebrity Traitors.
'But now he has been signed up for a show with Disney, another with Prime Video and he already has a third in the pipeline with Netflix.
'Plus, he's currently riding high thanks to the success of Secret Genius on Channel 4.

'It seems telly bosses can't get enough of him — and the Beeb can hardly get any of him.'
In addition, Alan is set to work with Netflix on a project with BBC co-star Amanda.
Meanwhile, the comedian has recorded a non-televised pilot of Norwegian show Nation's Dumbest for the BBC, according to Broadcast.
Alan bluffed his way to victory in The Celebrity Traitors, and he has admitted his experiences on the programme allowed him to relate to the contestants on Secret Genius - the Channel 4 programme in which he and Countdown star Susie Dent attempt to discover unsung but clever people in the UK.
Alan, who started filming Secret Genius just a day after his victory on The Celebrity Traitors, told the Daily Mirror: 'I'd gone from this judging, stereotyping, underestimation and there had been a lot of judging.

'You can't blame them because that's part of the game, isn't it? And then here we are, all these people who've been underestimated for their whole lives, by their family, by their employer, by their friends, by teachers.
'And I was like, 'Oh yeah, I sort of know how you feel really.'
'Then watching them grow and the doubt melt away. I mean, it was so lovely. It's a warm, fun show.'
Alan was a Traitor on The Celebrity Traitors, having been selected by Claudia Winkleman alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns.
He nabbed the victory after tricking Faithful's comedian Nick Mohammed and historian David Olusoga at the final hurdle.
