Boss, who was best known as the DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Los Angeles motel at the age of 40 in 2022.
Holker, a dancer, had her world thrown into disarray as she attempted to pick up the pieces and care for their children Maddox, nine, and Zaia, six, as well as her daughter Weslie, 17, whom Boss had adopted and helped raise.
In August 2024, Holker hinted that she had found a new romance by posting an Instagram photo showing the shadows of her and a mystery man holding hands.
That November she went Instagram official with Edmunds, a tech entrepreneur, and this week she revealed on the platform that she has accepted his proposal.

Holker, 38, posted a suite of images of the romantic evening, in which he threw her a surprise birthday party and then stunned her again by asking her to marry him.

'We’re ENGAGED! It was the most romantic night of my life! I am so in love with you Adam. Baby, I am forever grateful for you and the impact you have had in my life and my kids lives,' Holker raved in her Instagram caption.
'I am a better person because of you. You helped me find me again and showed me how to love. Every morning I wake up I feel safe knowing you are My person at my side. You and your kids coming into our lives has been the biggest blessing.'

Her Instagram album included photos of Holker and Edmunds' respective children at the party, along with friends who were included in the festivities.
Edmunds had arranged a display of flowers and candles as the backdrop of the proposal, and when she accepted and they kissed, rose petals rained down on them.
He also enlisted the services of Clinton Kane to appear live at the party and perform his 2022 release I Guess I'm in Love, which Holker described as 'our song.'
'You surprised me with a surprise birthday party and then surprised me and all our guests at the party with a surprise proposal party,' she wrote. 'The whole night was magic and you had every detail thought out to make it even more special.'
After thanking her guests and the event planners, Holker vowed: 'Adam, I will always support you, hold you and love you! You are my everything Adam.'

The development comes a year after Holker found herself at war with her late husband's family over her tell-all memoir This Far, which was published last February.
In the run-up to the book's release, Holker divulged some of its bombshell revelations in an interview promoting the project to People.
She claimed that after Boss' suicide, she began cleaning out his closet with a friend and came upon a 'cornucopia' of drugs in his shoeboxes, including pills, mushrooms and 'other substances I had to look up on my phone.'
Holker also alleged that she found his diaries, which contained repeated references to his having been sexually abused as a child by a male figure in his life.
Boss' family erupted in outrage over the book, slamming Holker as a 'money-hungry opportunist' and insisting that he had not been an addict.

Holker allegedly had the family sign a nondisclosure agreement before Boss' funeral, stipulating that only she could profit from discussing him in public, via TMZ.
Meanwhile Holker insisted the proceeds from her book would all be donated to the mental health nonprofit she set up in memory of Boss.
His brother Dre Rose claimed Boss had felt 'silenced' in his marriage to Holker, whom he fiercely criticized while speaking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings.
'To use my brother’s name and make it seem like he had this serious addiction problem, this sexual abuse allegation,' Rose told King. 'That could have been true, but I don’t think that’s the reason why my brother isn’t here today.'
Rose acknowledged in the same interview that Boss had 'used and tried' drugs 'recreationally,' adding that 'that wasn’t a shock to me.'

When asked why he felt his brother killed himself, Rose said: 'I think that’s a question for Allison. I think she knows more than us because she was there. She knows his last known whereabouts. She knows the last conversation they had.'
Holker and Boss began dating in 2010 and married in 2013, one year before he landed his job as the beloved DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In December 2022, he checked into to the Oak Tree Inn in the Los Angeles suburb of Encino - 15 minutes' walk from his house - and shot himself.
His body was discovered the morning after he arrived at the motel by a horrified maid who came upon him in a pool of blood in the bath.
Boss' shock suicide prompted an outpouring of grief from fans around the world, and Holker was showered with sympathy from the public.

Just weeks before his death, Boss and Holker had gone on The Jennifer Hudson Show and shared that they hoped to have another baby.
In December 2023, Holker uploaded a touching Instagram post about mourning as she approached two milestones - what would have been her and Boss' 10th wedding anniversary, and three days after that, his first death anniversary.
'Grief never ends .. but every season of challenge has an expiration date. Keep believing and keep dancing through,' she wrote.
The following month she revealed that she was open to the possibility of dating again, in an episode of Nick Viall's podcast The Viall Files.
'It was very hard for me to learn to like myself again and to learn to love myself again...it's a very complex situation I found myself in,' she said.

'It took me a long time to accept all of those things and those complexities of everything. But at the end of the day, I love life.'
When the subject of a new man came up, she said: 'Would I shy away from it? No. Am I looking for it? I don't know...but I'm definitely not shying away from it.'
