There are plenty of fifty-something British stars who despite nearing their sixth decade are still looking younger than ever.
The likes of presenters Tess Daly, 55, and Jo Whiley, 58, – who was seen letting her hair down at Glastonbury over the weekend – have managed to roll back the years despite busy family and work life.
Kate Beckinsale, 50, is another ageless star who looked youthful – despite insisting on multiple occasions that she’s never had any cosmetic procedures.
While Amanda Holden, 53, and Elizabeth Hurley, 59, don’t look a day over forty with their smooth complexions and incredible physiques.
MailOnline takes a look at the rise of the never-ageing fifty-something Brits:

Jo Whiley – 58
Jo looked as stunning as ever as she enjoyed Glastonbury Festival in Somerset over the weekend.
The star looked radiant as she posed in snaps at Worthy Farm where she was presenting for the BBC.
She continued her role as Glastonbury host, which she has held since 1997, – an incredible achievement.
Jo has previously told how she has never had any work done, telling the Daily Mail in 2008: ‘I always wanted a nose job but my husband wouldn’t let me.
‘Once you start it’s hard to know where to draw the line. There comes a point where you have to grow old gracefully.’
She added of her skincare and beauty regime: ‘I use a Clinique facial foaming wash and Kérastase Volumactive shampoo and conditioner, which cuts right through my tangles.
‘I moisturise with Murad’s SPF day moisturiser or, if my skin is parched, Elemis Pro-Collagen. At night I use Estée Lauder’s night cream.’
Jo breathed a sigh of relief as she completed another year presenting Glastonbury this year – after losing her voice.
She lost her voice just two hours into the five-day festival but continued to soldier through – despite BBC viewers expressing their concern.
Jo took to Instagram on Monday to summarise her experience and praised the festival medic for helping her to continue in her role as Glastonbury host, which she has held since 1997.
The Radio DJ wrote: ‘Oh My!! Glastonbury 2024 was a bit of a rollercoaster. Such happiness to be there and to be bringing the festival to you all as part of the @bbcglasto team.
‘Something I will never take for granted and I hope you enjoyed watching. So much joy and talent on those stages. The next week will be divided between watching all the performances on @bbciplayer and @wimbledon.
‘Losing my voice two hours after arriving at Glastonbury was NOT what I expected and made things a *bit* tricky & I’m so grateful to everyone for the advice, remedies and honey & lemon. Special mention to Jim the festival medic who came to my rescue yesterday mid radio show!
‘Saw two of my kids for a quick squeeze which was heaven and have seen photographic evidence that the whole WM crew & friends covered most corners of the festival. Not so much looking forward to the post-Glasto blues and laundry… anyone else??!!!
‘Special thanks to my Glasto radio & TV family for your hard work, love, support, producing, co-ordinating, driving, face painting & dressing up.
‘Beyond grateful to you all…Much love Jo’.
Despite being under the weather, Jo looked effortlessly stylish in a sparkly blue co-ord which showed off her long legs.
The presenter also shared snaps with Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Jo’s fans took to the comment section toc commend her on powering through and wished her a speedy recovery.

Kate Beckinsale – 50
Kate always looks incredibly youthful and has continually insisted that she has never had any cosmetic procedures.
Kate marked her milestone 50th birthday last July and has been wowing fans with her young complexion, looking as incredible as ever.
She often shows off her stunning looks and glamorous fashion sense in an array of Instagram posts, and has recently been impressing with a new bleach blonde look.
An array of cosmetics experts have given their insights into how Kate might maintain her incredible looks, after she hit back at surgery claims and spoke about her skincare treatments – including platelet-rich plasma facials.
Dr. Rayan Alalola, Aesthetic Doctor at Reflect Clinic, exclusively told MailOnline: There’s no denying that Kate Beckinsale looks amazing is absolutely glowing. Whilst Kate has denied rumours of cosmetic surgery, and claims she can’t have botox, there are other treatments she may have had.

‘It’s likely she follows a medical grade skincare routine and has regular aesthetic treatments to keep her skin glowing and youthful.
‘Kate has possibly had skin tightening treatments such as Morpheus8 which works on lifting and contouring the skin – this would help prevent sagging skin around the face, neck and jawline.
‘As well as that it’s likely Kate has regular laser treatments and /or skin peels to rejuvenate the skin and help rid of dark spots and pigmentation.
‘Kate may have also had injectable skin boosters or dermal filler to replace lost collagen and keep skin luminous and radiant.’
While Riccardo Frati, of Frati Cosmetic Surgery, said: ‘Kate Beckinsale previously stated that she’s had no threads, no thread lift, no Botox, no laser, no nose job, no filler.
‘The sensational looks she’s attained must certainly be due to regular, excellent skincare treatments, facials, prep to boost collagen, and radio frequency, to achieve skin tightening and collagen growth. Lifestyle will be a key factor in how she has achieved her appearance.
‘Kate has also stated that she applies SPF whenever she’s in the sun and has done since she was young. This will be a contributing factor in preserving her collagen integrity. Key treatment will be the use of advanced skin care products.’
Last month Kate penned a furious post hitting back at ‘insidious bullying’ from trolls over her appearance.
She took to Instagram to share how the the ‘vicious’ comments on her social media were impacting her amid constant accusations that she has had plastic surgery.
Last month Kate penned a furious post hitting back at ‘insidious bullying’ from trolls over her appearance
The clip was from 20 years ago and showed her posing for an old shoot as she spoke about how she is targeted over her ageless appearance
In the post she shared two videos – one from 20 years ago when she looked much younger and one from the week before at The King’s Trust Gala in NYC as she commented on her ageing
In the post she shared two videos – one from 20 years ago when she looked younger and one from the week before at The King’s Trust Gala in NYC – as she commented on her ageing.
She also told how it was ‘deeply ironic’ that people thought she was unaccepting of getting older as due to past family traumas when she was younger she thought she’d ‘never see the end of her 20s’.
Her father Richard, known for his role as Lennie Godber in the BBC sitcom Porridge sadly, passed away in 1979 aged just 31, when Kate was six-years-old.
She said in the post that her grief left her ‘immobilized by anxiety’, while she also referenced ‘surviving loss’ recently after the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby in January.
She penned: ‘I hate talking about this because I hate adding to this conversation but I’m doing it because insidious bullying of any kind over time takes a toll. These videos might be 20 years apart – maybe more.
‘Every time I post anything – and by the way, this has been the case since I was about 30 – I am accused of having had unrecognisable surgery/using Botox using fillers /being obsessed with looking younger, and it’s really such a tiresome and subtly vicious way to bully a person.
‘I don’t actually do any of those things – I’ve even gone to the trouble of having a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t and haven’t, and still, every time there’s a chorus of my God, you’re unrecognisable.
‘Oh my God PLASTIC, oh my God, you don’t even look like yourself anymore, it happens constantly and it’s usually women that are doing it.
‘Life happens – obviously I have aged, everybody ages; I’m not too concerned about aging-because I found my father dead at the age of 5, I spent most of my teenage years and a good deal of my 20s absolutely crippled with severe anxiety and panic attacks that I was going to die of a heart attack too, and went to emergency rooms often, and was almost, at that time of my life, completely immobilized by that anxiety.
‘The fact that one of the major things I am bullied about is an assumption that I can’t handle the idea of getting older is so deeply ironic when my all consuming terror was that I never thought I’d even see the end of my 20s.
‘As you can see from these two videos, what is different is that I lived in the UK, and was paler, I used to pluck the s**t out of my eyebrows, I loved that brown lipstick that everybody wore. I had a fuller face, as most of us do in our late teens and 20s.
‘Makeup techniques were matte, not nearly so glossy. I thought contours were something I found difficult in geography lessons. I’m posting this knowing full well that it will have absolutely no effect. It isn’t going to stop.
‘But I’m also posting it because whatever someone looks like, accusing them constantly of things they haven’t done, or being obsessed with youth when actually, currently I’m obsessed with surviving loss, is bullying. Please stop now.’

Tess Daly – 55
Busy wife and mother-of-two Tess continues to defy age despite her hectic schedule at home and work, much to the fascination of her fans.
Tess has previously insisted that age is merely a number, that there’s not necessarily a magic product she uses to look so youthful and that it’s all in the mind.
Speaking to MailOnline in 2000 she said: ‘Part of it is being in denial and forgetting I’m 50!
‘And honestly, I am not being smug but I just don’t feel any different. I feel the same as I ever did.
‘I have kids – one of them is 10, so I’m always in the park with her. That keeps me young and active and on-the-go. Having children means the childhood spirit is well and truly still alive. But honestly, I don’t feel any different!’
Tess went on: ‘It’s about your brain and mentality. You really are what you feel.

‘I am not someone who goes. ‘right now it’s time for grey hair and glasses’ just because I am getting older. Some people talk themselves into it.
‘I am lucky to do a job I love, and have a young family, and work out and look after myself. Yeah, the wrinkles are there but I just try not to focus on them so much. Beacuse what can you do?’
Tess said that her industry doesn’t help in making women feel less wary of their ages, but that it helps her to fight back against ageism.
‘Women – and not just in show-business – are forced to start defending their age at a certain age. You can scour an interview about a chap off the telly and his age might not be mentioned at all. Women’s ages are usually listed in the first line. So ageism is alive and well in the world of showbiz.’
On her approach to eating she has said: ‘I’ve always been into eating well and love how your fridge can be like your own pharmacy. I’m obsessed with ginger because it’s antiviral and boosts immunity, and put it into juices and make tea with it. However, I also love cake and chocolate.
‘People sometimes ask: ‘Do you not eat sweets?’ And I say: ‘Are you kidding!’ I’ll have cheeky snacks, but that’s fine because I do it in moderation. And I’m too busy to be unwell, so I take a vitamin gummy daily.’

Amanda Holden – 53
Radio presenter and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda never fails to look incredible and is always showing off her enviably youthful skin.
She has previously shared one of the secrets behind her youthful complexion, revealing one beauty treatment she has tried left her looking ‘five years younger’.
Amanda gave the beauty treatment a shout out on Instagram. Revealing that she’s been having collagen wave facials to help smooth out her skin, the Heart FM radio presenter explained that the procedure gives her an ‘incredible lift’.
Following her therapist’s suggestion to try a new natural treatment called Morpheus8, the Heart FM star described the results as ‘absolutely amazing’.
‘I’ve noticed a real plumpness to my skin and it’s much tighter,’ she added.
‘So I’m more than happy to shout from the rooftops about how brilliant this new treatment is! It’s been the best hour investment for looking at least five years younger.’

The star also uses clever make-up tricks to ensure the benefits of her rigorous skincare regime don’t go unnoticed.
‘In earlier years, her makeup was simpler with only a touch of colour on her eyes, some blush and a bit of lipstick and her eyebrows were also not as filled in and defined,’ award-winning make-up artist Stacey Whittaker explained to MailOnline back in 2018.
‘In more recent years, Amanda has been a lot more experimental with her makeup, opting for brighter eye shadow shades and dark smokey eyes paired with extra long lashes that allow her eyes to look bigger and brighter – and therefore younger.
‘It also looks as though Amanda has started to go for a bit of extra coverage on her skin for a more airbrushed finish.
‘Her use of highlighter enables her to look younger, as it prevents her face from looking flat and adds a youthful dimension to her feature.
‘One of the biggest makeup trends at the moment is of course contouring and Amanda has definitely embraced this trend the past few years.

Elizabeth Hurley – 59
Liz looks decades younger than her real age.
And the British actress says the secret to her youthful visage and incredible figure is very simple – she avoids processed foods.
The 59-year old told The Sydney Morning Herald last month that she does not subscribe to fad diets.
‘My tastes are pretty simple – I don’t drink weird green juices or anything like that,’ she tells the paper.
‘I’ve always watched what I eat, since forever. I’ve never wanted to eat processed food. Right back to my teens, I’ve always looked at the labels on food.’
She did however make a new change recently, giving up prepackaged sandwiches.

The beauty has previously disclosed that the secret to her youthful skin is, in fact, keeping out of the sun
‘I cut all that out over a year ago… I just eat what I would say is very normal, which could be roast chicken, mashed potatoes and a couple of different vegetables. It’s definitely not anything new-fangled or weird,’ she said.
When it comes to workouts, Elizabeth says she prefers gardening at home to formal exercise.
‘I don’t go to the gym, but I’m very active… I don’t really sit still very much,’ she said, adding, ‘But I do a lot of gardening – that’s quite bendy-downy, picking stuff up!’
The beauty previously disclosed that the secret to her youthful skin is, in fact, keeping out of the sun.
Elizabeth regularly posts holiday snaps of her in tiny bikinis but insists she stays in the shade during the hottest parts of the day.
Sharing a picture of herself lounging in the sun, she wrote: ‘LA morning wake up. I only go in the sun before 9am and after 6pm – otherwise, it’s under a large umbrella.’
Discussing how she stays in such good shape, she recently said she ‘makes time for exercise’ and eats ‘nutritious foods’.
She also avoids eating heavy meals in the evening. Revealing her ‘best’ dieting tip, she said: ‘Eat your food earlier on in the day, so you’ve got more time to digest it and your body can rest in the sleep period.’
Elizabeth recently told Harper’s Bazaar about how she maintains her incredible figure and that she can still fit into her famous safety pin dress.
The Aria star said: ‘I don’t exercise, but I am very active. But just because it still fits doesn’t mean I would wear it today— it wouldn’t be appropriate!’
