Adele Loves Bargain Wine Despite £170M Fortune

She grew up in a modest home in Tottenham and has gone on to build up a whopping £170 million . 

Yet it seems hasn't forgotten her humble roots, with 's ex-husband Paul Drayton revealing that the singer still looks after the pennies. 

Paul, Alan and Adele were once a tightknit trio, with the couple so close to the singer that she officiated their 2018 wedding in the back garden of her home. 

While it's not clear if Paul and Adele are still close following his split from comedian Alan in 2022, Paul shared his fond memories of the star in his autobiography, Ride Or Die Trying.

Paul penned: 'Most evenings we'd just get a Thai takeaway. Adele would turn up with a cheap bottle of wine, which we sank in a second, and moved on to our supplies.'

He also recalled 'the time I took her to TK Maxx for the first time', adding: 'She couldn't believe it as we combed through the rails hunting for bargains.' 

As per The Sun, Paul also revealed in the book that he helped introduce Adele to her first husband, Simon Konecki. 

The pair met in 2011 and welcomed son Angelo the following year. They split in 2018. She is now engaged to sports agent Rich Paul. 

Adele has never revealed how she met  Simon, but Paul has now claimed he had a hand in getting them together.

He wrote: 'She was always very honest and open with me and Alan because she knew she could trust us.'

Paul decided to pen a book about his 'colourful life' to put the record straight about his drink-drive arrest.

He had a 13-year relationship with Alan but the couple split following his well-documented battle with alcoholism, and narrowly escaped jail after reversing into a police car with an alcohol test reading 'off the scale' in 2022.

Paul walked free from court after winning his appeal against a prison sentence for drink-driving.

He spent two 'harrowing' nights in custody after reversing a 4x4 into a police car near his home in West Sussex with an alcohol test reading 'off the scale'.

A judge told him he should be given the opportunity to turn his life around and that his sentence would be suspended.

Alan said of his ex-partner’s addiction: 'It's horrible when you realise how bad it's got. You're watching someone kill themselves.

'I wanted to leave him. It's the lies that get you – the, "Oh I'll never drink again". And then you go out, realise you've forgotten your car keys, go back and… [Paul would be drinking.]

'I couldn't cope, because when I left the house, I didn't know if he was going to have a fall, or put something on the hob and fall asleep. He was grey and shuffling around. It was like watching someone die.'
