Now, personal trainer David Higgins, has lifted the lid on the secrets behind her jaw-dropping post-baby transformation

First and foremost, Margot uses a combination of strength training and reformer Pilates, as reported by Women's Health.

Usually, she will spend five minutes on a foam roller to warm up before doing 15 reps of each exercise.

This includes supine chest presses, bent-over rowing, right and left side, standing bicep curls, seated shoulder presses and supine skull crushers.

She then does a 100-rep ab challenge, which includes 20 crunches, toe taps on each side, and curtsy lunges on both sides.

Margot is a long-time reformer fan.

She once told the Telegraph: 'If I'm making a conscious effort to exercise, I work with a Pilates trainer on a reformer machine, and that suits me and my body best.'

David explained how the actress will usually spend two minutes on each exercise.

He told the publication: 'I stick to durations over reps when using a reformer machine.'

As for which one she decides to do between strength training and reformer Pilates, it's usually up to how her body feels on that day.

But when it comes to cardio, it's a big 'no' from Margot, and David believes that strength training can act like 'secret cardio'.

'By doing a full-body workout, your heart has to work hard to redirect the blood to the correct part of your body as and when you work it – from your upper-body to your lower-, for example,' he said.

Margot tends to focus on her core, with an upper body workout that leads into a 100-rep ab challenge.

One workout she does is skull crushers on a bench with her legs into a table top position at 90 degrees.

As for the ab challenge, this includes 20 crunches, toe taps on each side, and toe taps with legs together.

According to David, Margot would do this five times within each workout, meaning that's 500 reps.

He also revealed that the actress can hold a plank for four minutes and 10 seconds.

Detailing her stricter 'clean' diet, she said that for breakfast she'll typically opt for porridge with blackberries or a 'green machine' smoothie with kale and apple

Now, like anything, consistency is key.

David and Margot have been working together on and off for years, with their Barbie schedule lasting around 12-15 weeks.

And if it's one thing for certain, the actress will always fit a workout in whenever she can.

‘We would train together five days a week, for 45-60 mins each time,’ David added.

The Oscar nominee previously opened up about her approach to diet and fitness, revealing she likes to indulge her sweet tooth most of the time but will eat clean in the lead-up to a movie.

She told Emirates Woman: 'I'm not good at doing moderation. I get miserable if I don't eat. I can't just have a salad every day and a half a glass of wine every second day. I can't do it.'

Detailing her stricter 'clean' diet, she said that for breakfast she'll typically opt for porridge with blackberries or a 'green machine' smoothie with kale and apple.

At lunchtime, she'll have something like lemon chicken with brown rice or mackerel salad with tomatoes and cucumber.
