Pink may be one of the world’s most successful musicians, but that doesn’t save the singer-songwriter from messing up her own songs from time-to-time.
The rock-influenced pop singer, 44, made one such blunder on Tuesday when she performed at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
Kicking off the Victorian leg of her Summer Carnival Tour, the So What hitmaker hilariously forgot the lyrics to one of her most popular songs mid performance.
Pink took to the stage during a ‘Jason’s Secret Song’ bit, in which she had to guess which of her songs pianist Jason Chapman was playing on the piano.
The American performer correctly guessed the instrumentalist was playing her 2003 hit God is a DJ, but was unable to sing the lyrics correctly.
Pink made a hilarious blunder on Tuesday when she performed at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne and forgot the lyrics to her 2003 hit song God is a DJ
‘If God is a DJ, life is a dance floor, love is the music, your are the… something. I forget. Completely,’ she sang as the awe-struck audience erupted into laughter.
Pink – born Alecia Beth Moore – got most of the chorus lyrics correct, except the last two lines which are meant to go ‘love is the rhythm, you are the music’.
Every inch the expert performer, Pink played off the gaffe with a laugh and bizarrely compared the melody Jason played on the piano to ‘elevator music’.
‘If God is a DJ, life is a dance floor, love is the music, your are the… something. I forget. Completely,’ she sang as the awe-struck audience erupted into laughter
She said playfully: ‘That sounded like the elevator version of God is a DJ. Did anyone feel like they were like going into someone’s office?’
‘He has so many styles. I didn’t know you had elevator music in you, though… Also, I can’t play more than one song [on piano], so I should just be quiet.’
Pink could be forgiven her blunder, as just hours earlier she took time away from her tour schedule to perform for sick kids at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital.

The award-winning singer gave some ill children a day to remember as she visited and performed some acoustic songs for them on her guitar.
The US pop star shared a precious video to Instagram capturing the sweet moment she visited the hospital and sang her hit Cover Me In Sunshine to the kids.
One heartwarming moment showed a young girl in a wheelchair telling Pink how much she loves her music and another saw the singer posing for selfies with fans.
Pink captioned the clip: ‘It’s been 22 years since I first visited families at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and it was a privilege to return this week.’
