Duncan James has split from his boyfriend Rodrigo Reis after six years together as he took to social media on Sunday to post about his summer of ‘growth’.

The Blue singer, 47, started dating Rodrigo in 2019 and regularly posted loved up snaps of them both for fans.

However, it now appears he has cut all ties and removed pictures of Rodrigo from his official Instagram.

A source close to Duncan told The Sun On Sunday: ‘Duncan and Rodrigo have gone their separate ways after six years.

‘A break-up is never easy but Duncan has been throwing himself into the band and keeping his mind occupied with music.’

Daily Mail understands Duncan and Rodrigo ended their relationship a number of months ago.

Previously speaking to the Daily Mail, Duncan revealed Rodrigo, who lives in Belgium, and his daughter ‘really get on’.

Despite the pair meeting in November 2018, it wasn’t until April 2019 when their ‘journey officially began’.

In April, Duncan and Rodrigo celebrated six years together, with the hunk sharing a poignant video to his Instagram as a song called ‘meu abrigo’ could be heard playing over the top.

Duncan explained that translated to English it means ‘my shelter’, and conveys love and protection and being there for one another through life’s challenges, which he said reflected their relationship perfectly.

To celebrate, the singer planned a getaway to a hotel in London, where he surprised the flight attendant with a room full of balloons, banners and cake.

Their split news comes as Duncan shared a video montage with his followers on Sunday, showcasing his summer of ‘growth’.

He penned: ‘Summer 2025 – a season of sea, sun, and soul-soothing magic.

‘Grateful for family, friends, and adventures that filled my heart. From quiet healing to laughter under golden skies, and neon lights.

‘This chapter was one of growth, love, magic and light.

‘Here’s to carrying the glow into every season ahead.’

Duncan, who came out as a gay in his 30s, shares a daughter with his ex-girlfriend Claire Grainger.

In June, Duncan was left heartbroken following the sad passing of his uncle Alistair.

He revealed the news in a sad Instagram post, writing: ‘Yesterday, we said goodbye to my dear uncle Alistair – the kindest, gentlest soul you could ever hope to meet.

‘A true eccentric and a proper gentleman, full of life and personality. He loved nothing more than being out on the sea with his boat and enjoying a good beer.’

Duncan added: ‘He passed away peacefully at home, and he leaves behind a huge space in the hearts of everyone who knew him.’
