Surprising new twist in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni legal battle as ANOTHER A-lister is pulled into saga

As if Taylor Swift wasn’t enough – a major Hollywood star has now been dragged into Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal saga as their explosive battle prepares to head to trial.

The It Ends With Us costars have been embroiled in a bitter and extremely public feud for months, after Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a ‘hostile work environment on set.’

Baldoni, 41, retaliated with his own $400 million filing against the actress, along with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, with the brutal melee now scheduled for a trial on March 29, 2026. All parties have denied the claims.

Along the way, Lively’s pal Swift, 35, was dragged into the drama, and in the latest turn of events, Reynolds’ friend and Deadpool & Wolverine costar Hugh Jackman could now find himself embroiled.

According to a source, Jackman ‘will be deposed’ before the trial, as Baldoni’s legal team want to get ‘the full scope of Reynolds’ conduct’ during the time that It Ends With Us was filming.

‘Hugh will be deposed if this goes to trial,’ the insider said. ‘There is no way that he cannot.

‘Baldoni’s legal team is doing everything they need to do to get a full scope of Ryan’s conduct during the time that It Ends with Us was filmed. 

‘As Ryan’s good friend, who starred in the film and was with Blake and Ryan many times in private during that time, his deposition will likely be crucial. They are not going to leave any stone unturned.’ 

Depositions are part of the pre-trial discovery process, where witnesses are questioned under oath.

It helps attorneys with preparing their case before trial, but does not automatically mean it will go to trial.

Reynolds and Jackman starred together in the Marvel smash hit, which the former also co-wrote. Filming kicked off in May 2023, around the same time that It Ends With Us was in production.

The source also pointed out that Jackman ‘helped promote It Ends with Us’ and that Reynolds appeared to include ‘several not-so-subtle disses about Baldoni’ in Deadpool & Wolverine, adding: ‘It’s unlikely Hugh wasn’t aware of this.’

‘Not only this, but Hugh helped promote It Ends with Us in the same way that Taylor did when they did their group shot for the cross-promo with Deadpool,’ they continued. ‘The timing of the premieres is also no coincidence.’

Jackman supported It Ends With Us by attending the movie’s New York City premiere with his pal Reynolds.

‘Hugh will be deposed if this goes to trial,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘There is no way that he cannot’

The source added: ‘Hugh helped promote It Ends with Us in the same way that Taylor [Swift] did when they did their group shot for the cross-promo with Deadpool & Wolverine’

Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman previously said on The Megyn Kelly Show that ‘there was no question’ that Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine character Nicepool was a joke at Baldoni’s expense.

Nicepool sported a man bun – a style worn by Baldoni in the past – and had dialogue referencing an affinity for social activism, another apparent nod at the actor. 

Nicepool also made comments about Lively’s Ladypool character and her pregnancy which some took as another obvious reference to Baldoni.

‘What Ryan Reynolds has seemingly done is use his power and influence … on Deadpool and to make fun of Justin Baldoni,’ Freedman said.

‘There’s no question it relates to Justin. I mean anybody that can watch that – the hair bun, you know, the comment about the pregnancy – it’s pretty obvious what’s being done.’ 

Freedman added that Reynolds addressing grievances with Baldoni with a comedy sketch undercut the credibility of sexual harassment claims Lively has made in her lawsuit against the filmmaker. 

‘If your wife is sexually harassed, you don’t make fun of Justin Baldoni. You don’t make fun of the situation – you take it very seriously,’ he continued.

Neither Reynolds nor Lively have ever addressed claims that Nicepool had anything to do with Baldoni.

Earlier this month, a separate source told DailyMail.com that Swift will likely be subpoenaed to be questioned under oath as part of the ongoing saga.

The superstar singer, 35, has been friends with Lively for over a decade and was mentioned in legal filings by both sides in the increasingly bitter dispute. 

Notably, Baldoni accused Lively of enlisting the Cruel Summer songstress to ‘pressure’ him into letting her rewrite the It Ends With Us script.

Swift is godmother to Lively and husband Reynolds’ daughters James, 10, Inez, eight, and Betty, five.

Ever since Lively filed her bombshell complaint against her co-star and director Baldoni in December last year, Swift has not been seen with Lively, sparking reports they have fallen out.
