Ariana Grande showed off her comedic skills over the weekend as the host of Saturday Night Live.
The Wicked star, 31, who was mocked by fans for not wanting to perform in a Wizard of Oz skit on the late night staple, knocked it out of the with an impersonation of icon Jennifer Coolidge.
The faux Maybelline commercial begins with SNL regular Chloe Fineman wearing a pink lingerie ensemble and sitting at her vanity applying lip gloss.
‘Oh gosh, Hi!,’ she said to the camera in her best Coolidge voice, ‘Maybelline’s new super stay Longwear liquid lip color goes on like a dream. I better look in the mirror and make sure I didn’t miss any spots.’
Grande appears as her reflection and says ‘Wow, you look great Jennifer Coolidge.’

The two compliment their appearance for a moment and then Fineman reveals, ‘I’ve got a big date tonight and I’m counting on Maybelline’s liquid lip, long lip to seal the deal.’ They then apply more gloss, before jumping to some important first date questions.
‘What are we going to talk about on our date?’ Grande asks. ‘I don’t know,’ answered Fineman, who then asked, ‘What’s a good conversation starter?’
‘Lemons?’ suggests the Into You singer to big laughs. ‘Heck yeah,’ agrees the Megaloplis actress, adding, ‘What topic should we avoid?’
‘Fish,’ answers her reflection, with Fineman asking if she should avoid mention of the animal or the band. ‘There’s an animal called Fish?’ Grand queries. ‘Yeah,’ is the answer.
When asked about what to tell the date if asked about having a superpower, the Jennifer in the mirror replies with a deadpan ‘crabwalk.’
‘Now give me one,’ Fineman tells Grande, who is struggling not to laugh as she suggests, ‘If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be?’ ‘Living,’ answers Fineman.
‘Wow, you can’t help but sound smart if you’re wearing Maybelline,’ admits Grande. ‘Let’s say the name together.’ They then begin to speak the very long name of the gloss over each other, neither getting it right.
After cleaning the ‘mirror’ with a blue liquid, the pair mimic each other wiping the looking glass with a cloth. ‘I wonder what our lips look like from the side,’ says Fineman, who then proceeds to open the frame.
Grande’s scenen partner was Chloe Fineman, who also played Jennifer Coolidge. The two chatted through the mirror about their upcoming date

The audience was in for a big surprise with SNL alum Dana Carvey, 69, appeared in the side reflection as Coolidge. ‘Thank God you opened the mirror,’ he managed to say over the audience laughter. ‘I’ve been trapped in here for years.’
‘Oh no,’ replies Fineman. ‘It’s okay, you look great. I’m Jennifer Coolidge,’ Carvey said, introducing his character, adding, ‘Hey, maybe we need more longwear liquid lip color long lasting mouth magic,’
The original Jennifers agree, and she and Grande begin applying the gloss to each other. As Carvey struggles to find his own tube, they offer him some of theirs and begin sharing the product.
