In August, law enforcement officials revealed to TMZ that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s cliffside home was broken into over the summer, as thieves smashed through the glass to get inside a guest house on their property.
The actors had been out of their home town when the security alarm was triggered by the broken glass – but this did not stop the criminals from entering the $26 million Pacific Palisades residence.
News of the Hanks home being broken into came nearly a year after the couple’s son, Chet, 34, encountered an intruder in his own home. At the time, it was reported that the suspect attacked the arresting officers at the scene, but Chet was unharmed.
Notable names such as Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans have also been targeted in a string of recent burglaries in the area which have law enforcement concerned that criminal operations are becoming more brazen.
In July, Bhad Bhabie’s home was hit by burglars after thieves smashed through her back door before stealing items such as handbags and jewelry. Law enforcement entered the rapper’s home after the alarm was triggered shortly before 10 p.m. on July 12.
Authorities discovered signs of forced entry but none of those who broke into the property were found at the scene, although one man in a black hoodie was spotted fleeing by time cops arrived.
Bhad Bhabie, 21, who’s real name is Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, is thought to be worth a fair amount of money after she recently revealed she has earnt a whopping $57 million over on OnlyFans.

Hyland had been out of town at the time of the incident but caught her crime while watching her live security camera footage from her mobile phone after receiving an alert. TMZ revealed cops were called to the property and carried out a sweep to ensure none of the criminals were sill lurking nearby.
Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans, 52, also had his Los Angeles home broken into on June 29, and posted a warning to potential thieves quickly after.
In an Instagram post he said: ‘Don’t waste your time. They didn’t really get much because I don’t own s***. I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life’.
TMZ previously reported that the robbery took place at around 2:30 a.m. while his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was asleep. A staffer discovered in the morning that the home had been ransacked and that a safe had been taken.
