Dean Cain on Tuesday said that he past suffered sexual harassment from a show business executive that was so brazen, he could have been in line for record-setting litigation, had he pursued it.
The 58-year-old actor chat with Variety on Tuesday in a wide-ranging discussion that touched on his experience playing the role of the Man of Steel on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993-1997.
‘I could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history,’ said Cain, who appeared as the beloved character for 87 episodes over the four seasons it aired.
The Mount Clemens, Michigan-born actor, who was raised in Southern California, revealed to the industry outlet that he ‘never before told a reporter’ about the harassment he described as historic.
Cain, who has also been seen on shows such as Las Vegas, Clubhouse and Beverly Hills, 90210, declined to name names or add any revealing details to the shocking revelation.
‘There were always murmurs’ some clandestine activity was behind the unlikely end of the hit superhero series, and numerous data points that indicate the decision to take the show off the air was done hastily, Variety reported.

A cliffhanger in the storyline to conclude the show’s fourth season was not resolved, Variety reported.
Cain had already penned multiple scripts and planned to direct multiple episodes in a planned fifth season that never materialized.
‘The harassment [against the actor] took its toll on his relationship at the time with’ Gabrielle Reece, the outlet reported in reference to Cain’s one-time romance with the stunning model-volleyball player.
The principal cast of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman included Cain, Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, K Callan as Martha Kent, and late actors Lane Smith and Eddie Jones as Perry White and Jonathan Kent, respectively.
The show starring Cain, who has been critical of Tinseltown politics in recent years, had also racked up five Primetime Emmy nods during its run.
They included, in 1994, nods for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Main Title Theme Music and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Directing in a Drama Serie.
In 1995, the series was nominated for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Costuming; and in 1996 for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series.
Cain said he also felt like suing after he felt financially exploited after seeing the numbers on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

‘I didn’t know enough back then about residuals,’ said Cain. ‘Warner Bros. buries the bodies deep and makes it look like it’s lost money. There’s no possible way.
‘But I should have sued. George Clooney did it. He sued on ER and got a big payout for his participation. I was advised not to because, “You don’t want to bite the hand that feeds you.”‘
Prior to playing Superman, Cain formerly attended Princeton University, where he dated model Brooke Shields and was classmates with former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The conservative actor pointed out that his one-time classmate let her daughter Malia Obama do an internship at the The Weinstein Co. – formerly ran by disgraced Hollywood producer and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein.
‘Isn’t she the one who said, “Harvey, you’re the guy my daughter should work for,” right?’ Cain told Variety.
