Zendaya fans are divided over her latest Madame Tussauds wax figure.
A replica of the 29-year-old actress was revealed at the museum’s New York City location on January 7, featuring updates like her sparkling engagement ring from Tom Holland.
It was designed in the likeness of her February 2024 Dune: Part Two promotional appearance in Mexico City, during which she wore a custom Bottega Veneta ensemble.
While some praised the statue for it’s close resemblance to the star, others criticized it.
‘The new Zendaya wax figure looks more like Zendaya than Zendaya herself,’ one person wrote on X. Someone else argued, ‘It good if you only stare at like for like 4 seconds.’
It comes after Zendaya’s 2022 Madame Tussauds mold drew comparisons to Kylie Jenner.

The verdict was split as spectators fussily made their points on social media after the wax unveiling.
@NkechiKwenu wrote online that if you look at the wax sculpture any longer than a few seconds ‘you realize that ain’t remotely Z.’
Another person agreed, ‘Something’s off,’ while someone else said, ‘They did her dirty.’
But others praised the new museum attraction, with one fan effusing that it’s ‘actually crazy accurate.’
‘Why is everyone hating? This one actually looks good,’ weighed in another viewer.
There was one pleased fan who wrote on X that the carefully carved statue ‘looks just like her.’
And another gushed that the imitation ‘suits her beauty.’
‘She glows different, mad respect,’ said yet another happy fan.
Still, an eagle-eyed social media highlighted a small lump on the dupe’s midriff and asked, ‘What’s that bulge on her tummy?’

The lifelike figure wore a neon pink suit paired with a chic updo and was presented at Madame Tussauds in London.
Despite the sculpture having been made with measurements and references taken during the Euphoria star’s 2015 sitting with the museum’s artists, fans claimed it looked more like the makeup mogul.
Tiago Mogadouro, General Manager of Madame Tussauds New York said in a January 2026 press release: ‘Zendaya has earned her place among today’s most recognizable and respected stars.
‘This figure is a tribute to her lasting impact on both entertainment and fashion.’
It’s customary for Madame Tussauds creations to come to fruition based on hundreds of measurements and photos followed by a rigorous production process with a team of 20 artists.
