Zara McDermott will not be joining Sam Thompson during his stint Down Under for the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show as she begins filming for her latest BBC documentary about Stalking.
The Love Island star, 27, is exploring the impact of stalking over two episodes filmed in real time so she has to be available at all times and cannot travel to Australia.
She was unable to join her boyfriend of five years last year when he won the show because she was competing on Strictly Come Dancing with her now-disgraced partner, Graziano Di Prima.
It comes as Sam told the MailOnline: ‘I don’t know if Zara will be coming out, that’s a good question. Maybe, if she’s not working, maybe. She’s awesome. That would be really nice, if she could come out it would be really nice to see her.’
Zara McDermott: Stalked begins filming tomorrow when she will be meeting and spending time with those currently being subjected to the behaviour and seeing how stalking affects lives.

Last year’s Strictly Come Dancing star will also follow the process of reporting stalking to the police and how victims navigate the justice system.
Carving herself a place in the documentary sphere with BBC Three, Zara has also worked on projects including Disordered Eating, Revenge Porn and Uncovering Rape Culture.
Speaking about her latest documentary, Zara said: ‘I, like many others, know people who have been affected by stalking. I really want to witness the real impact of stalking on people’s lives as they deal with the stress, fear and process of reporting these crimes to the police.’
Meanwhile, Sam arrived in Australia on Sunday as he landed his ‘dream’ job presenting I’m A Celebrity’s new spin-off show, Unpacked, alongside Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers.
He remains the reigning King of the Jungle for now but McFly’s Danny Jones and Coronation Street’s Alan Hasall also arrived on Sunday as contestants in this year’s series to steal his crown.
Despite being 17,000km in the air, Sam did not miss his best friend and TV husband, Pete Wicks, perform a show stopping dance on last night’s Strictly Come Dancing which he dedicated to his late nan.
Pete Wicks’ girlfriend, Maura Higgins, is also due to arrive at Brisbane Airport in the coming days as she is tipped to be competing in this year’s I’m a Celebrity.
The night before Sam made the more than 20 hour trip to Australia shared a video of himself in bed with Zara talking about his upcoming trip.

Sam and Zara began dating in 2019 after the Love Island star messaged the former Made In Chelsea star on Instagram
He shared how excited he was that his new job meant he could finally become ‘best friends with Ant and Dec’.
To which she jokingly reminded him that it was ‘just a spin-off show’ and that he wouldn’t be working with the Geordie duo.
I’m A Celebrity Unpacked which will air after the main show and Ant and Dec’s quick episode round-up, Jungle Club.
Guests will appear on the show to reflect on the day’s episode as well as exclusive inside gossip with Joel Dommett, who hosted the previous companion show Extra which was axed in 2020.
At the start of the Pandemic when I’m A Celeb enjoyed a brief stint in Wales, Extra Camp was replaced with The Daily Drop hosted by Vick Hope but this was axed in 2021 and no companion show replaced it until now.
