Zara McDermott took her fans for a trip down memory lane as she shared a series of throwback snaps from a decade ago.
The former Love Island star, 29, took part in the new ‘2026 is the new 2016’ viral trend currently sweeping social media.
TikTok and Instagram users have been sharing snaps of themselves from 10 years ago which is seen as a more innocent time for the internet with viral dances and quirky memes dominating people’s feeds.
In one snap, Zara looked nearly unrecognisable as she posed in a white lace top and black denim short shorts along with a matching choker.
Alongside the photo, she wrote: ‘The chokers were a VIBE’.
In another snap, she struck a playful pose in a black vest tucked into a green mini skirt and poked fun at her curly hairstyle.

‘Back when I never used to believe in brushing out your curls. My hair WTF and I was so ungrateful for it. It’s taken me years to get back to this level of health,’ she wrote.
She also shared a photo wearing a matching white dress with her friend and wrote: ‘I love the fact everyone is going through their 2016 pics, so here’s a few of mine. Matching dresses with my bestie.’
The documentary presenter also posted a snap of herself posing with friends in a black and blue mini dress.
It comes after Zara shared a rare selfie with boyfriend Louis Tomlinson as she reflected on her 2025 earlier this month.
She began dating the One Direction star, 34, earlier this year, following her split from boyfriend Sam Thompson.

Zara also shared a sweet photo with Louis’ sister Lottie Tomlinson as she joined the siblings at Glastonbury in June.
The TV personality admitted she was ‘nervous’ to attended the iconic festival at Worthy Farm but she enjoyed it once there.
She explained: ‘First Glastonbury… I was nervous because it was pretty much my first EVER festival (apart from one local festival I went to at aged 19 and I got my dad to pick me up after an hour) but I did well!!!’
Elsewhere while reflecting on 2025, Zara said she was ‘grateful’ for her documentaries, relaunching her YouTube channel and spending time with family.
She wrote: ‘A recap of some of the most magical moments of 2025. Another year grateful for being able to make TV and film important documentaries… I can’t believe I got my first commission in 2019! That means I’ve been doing this for almost 7 years now!
