Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt looked over the moon this week as she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority during her sophomore year at Spelman College.
The 18-year-old was pictured in video shared to Essence’s Instagram feed in which she showed off some dance moves and introduced herself to her sorority sisters.
It’s unclear if either of her parents were attending the ceremony, but Angelina has made multiple visits to her daughter’s historically black women’s college, including when she helped Zahara move in in August 2022.
The celebrity daughter was joining the Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, which is known as the first historically black sorority in the Greek system.
Although the audio from the clip makes it difficult to hear what Zahara is shouting above the crowd noise, she appeared to drop her father Brad Pitt’s last name when reciting her name to onlookers.

Zahara was dressed identically to her sorority sisters in a black midi dress with short sleeves, and she also had on a pair of thin black gloves.
She was arranged in a tight line with the other women, who all had their heads slightly bowed.
Then she stepped sideways to break ranks and walked to the side of the line where she danced and flipped her head side to side, highlighting her voluminous curls.
‘My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California,’ she appeared to say, via People.
There weren’t any other references to her famous family, though the crowd’s cheers increased considerably when she said her mother’s last name.
Her sorority was founded back in 1908, at another HBCU, Howard University, while her chapter Mu Pi was founded in 1979.
Fans of Zahara’s mom Angelina got a shock back in August of last year when the 48-year-old Maleficent star joined her daughter for Spelman’s move-in day.
Jolie kept a low profile in a black blouse and matching slacks as she helped Zahara get settled.
Darryl Holloman, Spelman’s vice president for student affairs, shared a photo to Instagram at the time of himself beaming with Angelina and a masked-up Zahara, and she also stopped to chat on campus with the university president Dr. Helene Gayle.
‘Welcome to campus..Zahara, c’2026,’ Holloman captioned the post.
Zahara’s father Brad didn’t appear to play a role when she started at Spelman.
However, he made it clear that he was very ‘proud’ of what his daughter had so far accomplished with her education.

He and Angelina split seven years earlier, but the exes have been involved in a contentious years-long feud over custody, the dramatic circumstances under which their relationship ended and their ongoing business affairs.
The former couple are parents to Maddox, 22; Pax, 19; Zahara, 18; Shiloh, 17; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.
