New York Jets owner Woody Johnson faced backlash for posting a picture with Taylor Swift after Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Multiple Jets fans took to the comments of the post to voice their displeasure with Johnson taking the photo, while some also took the opportunity to make jokes about the post.
Johnson’s post featured himself, as well as his son Jack, posing with Swift inside what appeared to be one of the suites inside of MetLife Stadium with the caption: ‘Yup you guessed it… we’re Swifties too.’
One social media user appeared to suggest that Johnson was getting close to Swift to gain favor with the NFL.
‘I see what you’re doing. Good play if the NFL thinks you’re a Swifty then the refs will chill with the flags. Smart man,’ the fan joked.

Some fans turned the photo into a chance to make jokes while many others reacted differently
The joke was in reference to the controversial penalty on Jets cornerback Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner that essentially cost the hosts any chance at winning the game late in the fourth quarter.
New York ended up losing the game 23-20.
However, others didn’t see the funny side as they blasted the Jets owner for taking a photo with the girlfriend of one of their opponents.
‘If you’re not the most tone-deaf owner in football, I don’t know who is. You just don’t get it. Sell the team,’ a different fan who was clearly angered by the picture said.
‘You cost us the game, if that’s the case,’ one Jets fan wrote on X.
‘Delete this, no pulse on the team or the fans. Ridiculous,’ another fan frustratingly expressed.

Swift watched on in New York as her new beau Travis Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Jets
Swift recently began dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and was in attendance at one of his games for the second week in a row Sunday night.
The pop star brought a number of celebrities along with her – including Hugh Jackman, Sophie Turner, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake Lively among others – to MetLife Stadium.
Their relationship has at least temporarily brought the attention of countless Swift fans to the NFL after she was first seen in attendance at Kansas City’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Her attendance for the game against the Jets then saw a spike in ratings as 27 million people apparently tuned in and female viewer ship reportedly rose by two million.
