Winona Ryder Spotted with Longtime Beau, No Engagement Yet

Winona Ryder made a rare sighting with her silver fox boyfriend of 14 years Scott Mackinlay Hahn at the Stranger Things season five premiere in Hollywood on Thursday. 

The 54-year-old actress – who has been dating the fashion designer since 2011 – sweetly held hands with her beau as they paused for a brief photo session on the red carpet at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre. 

The couple mainly keep their relationship out of the spotlight and were seemingly last publicly seen together last year at the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice screening in London. 

Ryder and Hahn color-coordinated in all-black ensembles during the star-studded festivities.

However, she still showed no signs of an engagement despite the pair being together for over a decade as her ring finger was bare. 

The star – who portrays the character of Joyce Byers in the hit Netflix show – donned a fitted black blazer secured with a row of buttons at the front as well as a matching skirt that flowed down towards the ground.

Her partner was dapper wearing a classic black suit as well as a black shirt underneath and sleek dress shoes. 

The Edward Scissorhands actress first crossed paths with Hahn at the premiere of Black Swan in 2010 – and the pair struck up a romance the following year. 

Ryder previously revealed how the fashion designer had initially thought she was actress Milla Jovovich during their first meeting. 

‘He thought I was Milla Jovovich,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2022. ‘He told me I was great in The Fifth Element.’ 

The star also explained how she liked Hahn not being a part of the entertainment industry. 

‘We connected on so many levels. But it was amazing that he’s not in this business… I really did try to keep it quiet.’ 

And during a separate conversation with Harper’s Bazaar last year, Ryder gushed how ‘lucky’ she felt to be dating Hahn. 

‘He’s so great. He really is. I’m really lucky,’ the Oscar-nominated star expressed. 

During a past interview in 2016 with The Edit, Ryder opened up about whether she has plans to marry in the future, per Time.

‘Marriage? I don’t know. I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times.’ 

The actress added, ‘Not that there’s anything wrong with divorce, but I don’t think I could do it if that was a possibility. When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high.’ 

However during an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2018, Ryder revealed that she might be married to her Bram Stoker’s Dracula co-star Keanu Reeves. 

‘We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God I think we’re married in real life,’ she said of filming Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 movie. 

‘In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.’ 

And back in 2021, Reeves explained that he believes both he and Ryder are married ‘under the eyes of God.’ 

The Matrix star told Esquire, ‘We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.’ 

Before her relationship with Hahn, Ryder was previously linked to other stars such as Johnny Depp, Matt Damon and also Soul Asylum band member Dave Pirner. 

Ryder is reprising her role as Joyce Byers in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things – with the first four episodes releasing on Netflix on November 26. 

Three more episodes will drop on Christmas Day and the finale will be available on December 31. 

The two-hour final episode will also have a limited release in theaters from New Year’s Eve through January 1.   

The cast also includes Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalie Dryer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery and Maya Hawke. 

Ryder became emotional while talking to Netflix on the red carpet as she reflected on working with the cast and younger co-stars. 

‘I feel like this season I got to spend time with all of them, which was incredibly special.’ 

She then became tearful while adding, ‘They’re, they’re just – I’ll get emotional. They’re just… I will always love them forever.’

On Friday, Netflix also dropped the first five minutes of season five on the streaming site, leaving fans in an emotional frenzy.
