Willie Nelson is sitting out of the opening dates of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour after his team announced he’s ‘not feeling well’ in an Instagram post on Friday.
‘We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days, the Grammy Award winner’s, 91, team wrote in the statement.
‘He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week. In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie’s classics and other songs.’
Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse are still expected to perform at the festival as scheduled.
The Outlaw Music Fest Tour kicks off Friday in Alpharetta, Georgia, before wrapping up September 20 in Gilford, New Hampshire.

Nelson previously had to cancel his 2019 tour with Krauss, 52, as he announced ‘a breathing problem’ he had to have treated.
The cannabis connoisseur revealed later that year that he gave up smoking weed following the health scare.
‘I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful,’ he told San Antonio TV station KSAT.
‘I started smoking cedar bark, went from that to cigarettes to whatever. And that almost killed me, added Nelson. ‘I don’t smoke anymore — take better care of myself.’
Although he’s given up smoking, a rep later clarified Nelson ‘has not quit cannabis’ as he still partakes in edibles, vapes and other THC products.
Nelson has previously had to cancel other shows due to illness in recent years.
The Bluegrass artist rang in his milestone 90th birthday last April with a show at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring the likes of Snoop Dogg and Sheryl Crow.

‘Having no fear is a pretty good thing,’ he told Slate at the time. ‘I still try to do a little workout every day just to pay for the day. That’s what I call it: You have to do something to pay for the day.
‘So I’ll get up and do a little walking or jogging or whatever, just enough to keep the heart going,’ added Nelson.
Nelson also credited cannabis as ‘a good medicine and I’m glad that it’s being accepted around the country, and I’ll be glad when every state in the union legalizes it, because I think it will be healthy for everybody.’
In addition to releasing his 75th solo studio album The Border last month, Nelson was also recently featured on the ‘Smoke Hour’ interludes of Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated Cowboy Carter album.
