Australians have come out in force this week to get their hands on Bluey Christmas Dollarbucks.
The limited edition collectable coins by Royal Australian Mint, released on Thursday, come in gold and silver and are stamped with Bluey and his younger sister Bingo in festive hats.Â
The gold coins are selling for $20 while the rare silver coins can be bought for $100. Â
Bluey is a well-known Australian animated TV series that debuted in 2018 and follows the adventures of the cute a blue heeler dog.Â
Fans lined up overnight to get their hands on the Christmas collection, with the coveted coins selling out in minutes when the Perth Mint opened its doors.  Â
‘I fully appreciate the excitement, and I love seeing it. It just really brings the community together, when things aren’t always easy,’ Perth Mint CEO Paul Graham told Perth Now.

‘People want them – demand is significantly outstripping supply.’
However, while the coins are in hot demand with die-hard Bluey fans, they could also make you a lot of money.
A TikTok user has taken to the video-sharing platform to share a glimpse at just how dedicated Aussies are to nabbing the coins while shedding light on their monetary value.Â
‘So this is the line at the shopping centre for the Bluey coins,’ @dannyflippingdeals told the camera, panning to show the line of people waiting in an Adelaide mall.Â
‘When you can make $400 straight away on release day, it’s just easy money.’
He then asked his followers: ‘How long would you wait in a line to save or make 300 plus dollars?’Â
This isn’t the first time Aussies have gone into a meltdown over Bluey coins.
In 2024, people formed queues outside Australia Post to get their hands on them following the extremely popular sale of coloured Bluey Dollarbucks earlier that year.

What’s more, customers claimed the website crashed thanks to the number of people trying to buy them.
The coins featured the cartoon characters Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad, Rad and Frisky, Muffin and Socks, as well as Stripe, Trixie and Nana.
‘We are excited to bring Bluey to the world of collectable coins,’ Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail, Josh Bannister, said at the time.
‘Whether you’re enchanted by Bluey’s adventures or someone who has enjoyed the show from its early days, these coins are a unique way for fans to connect with the characters they love and celebrate a show that has touched the hearts of families across Australia and beyond.’
