DJ Stelio Mitsos was laid to rest on Tuesday following his sudden death after suffering a cardiac arrest at age 56.
The Adelaide music aficionado, known to fans as DJ Stelio, collapsed in his Salisbury home earlier this month and died on September 13, reported The Advertiser.
His funeral was held this week at St Dimitrios Church in Salisbury Plain, with hundreds of mourners gathering to say their final farewells, including Mitsos’ wife Priscilla.
In a statement read aloud at the service on behalf of Priscilla, she reminisced about her ‘strong marriage’ with Mitsos, and joked she would buy a cat and name it after him.
‘We shared a strong marriage full of love, full of laughter, lots of fights, good times and hard times. But through it all we stood by each other,’ she wrote.
‘No matter what life threw at us, Stelios worked so hard to make me happy. He never said no, only when I asked for a cat.’

Priscilla and Mitsos married in 2003, spending 22 years together in a life she boasted was ‘never boring’.
‘It was full, it was rich, it was real. I’m going to miss you more than words can say. He is all I’ve known and all that I’ve ever wanted,’ she wrote.
Priscilla went on to say she would forever be ‘grateful for the beautiful memories we made together’ and said Mitsos would ‘live on through his music’.
‘I will now get the cat that I always wanted and name it Stelio,’ she then joked.
The funeral began with a priest using a thurible to spread incense as a series of hymns echoed through the church.
Mitsos’ casket was followed closely by his wife and family, with a pair of black headphones placed inside his casket to signify his love of music.
Dozens of wreaths and bouquets were left outside the church alongside messages of love and grief, while mourners lit candles and prayed inside.
Mitsos spent decades performing his sets as DJ Stelio at weddings, parties and sold-out shows.
