Marissa Bode, who co-stars alongside Ariana Grande in Wicked, is speaking up about a fan who ambushed the singer this week.
The 32-year-old pop star was bombarded by an overzealous fan while walking the red carpet at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good on Thursday.
Following the ordeal, Marissa, 25, took to TikTok to condemn fans who don’t respect public figures’ personal space.
The actress, who plays Nessarose Thropp in the two-part Wicked films, began her video by quoting people who defend unruly fanatics.
‘”But they’re a fan!’ Okay. Then they’re a fan and a loser,’ she stated.
She went on to point out that she has previously raised the subject of ‘parasociality, especially at things like concerts or just when someone in the public eye is at an event, like people throwing s**t on stage mid-performance.’

Marissa captioned the minute-long TikTok clip, ‘This is about the experiences of most women in Hollywood btw.’Â
The man who charged at Ariana has been identified as Johnson Wen, and goes by @PyjamaMann on Instagram.
Pinned to his profile are videos of him crashing the stage performances of Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers.
According to BBC, following Thursday’s stunt, he has been charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court.
Marissa stressed in her reaction video, ‘This is what I mean when I say social media brings out the worst in people.
‘Oh, did you get your views? Did you get your likes? Guess what you also did — you made somebody feel incredibly unsafe, but just, no remorse. That goes over your head.’
She emphasized about Johnson, ‘You’re a bad person.’
The movie star also said in the recording that she she doesn’t subscribe to the idea that ‘women, or really anybody, should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they’ve been violated in that way.’
She added, ‘And to expect that makes you a weirdo also.’
‘The thing is, most of the time women within the public eye do respond with kindness because they know what the result is going to be if they don’t,’ Marissa highlighted.

Ariana, for her part, has moved onward graciously, taking to Instagram on Friday morning to share photos from the Singapore red carpet.
She captioned the post, ‘thank you, Singapore ♡ we love you,’ and said nothing of the shock incident.
Marissa’s TikTok has so far collected over 213,000 likes — more than her 197,000 follower count.
She followed up the viral monologue with a second post, in which she named singer Chappell Roan and actress Rachel Zegler as women who are often met with backlash for speaking out against out of control fandom.
‘These are people, they are not products, they do not owe you their entire personhood. And to be frank, if you don’t agree with that, you are not a fan,’ she said.Â
‘[You are] someone who’s entitled that desperately needs to be brought back down to Earth.’
