One of Sydney’s most successful real estate tycoons is officially off the market after a spectacular wedding that brought together the biggest names in property, Jewish high society and even a few colourful characters.
The big knees-up in Bondi Junction on Sunday has been eight years in the making, and I hear there were more than a few sore heads the next morning.
The groom was Jerome Srot, a partner in prestige real estate agency The Rubinstein Group, and his bride was stunning socialite Cecilia Summer. They tied the knot in an elegant yet traditional Jewish ceremony at their spiritual home of Central Synagogue.
Worshippers at the celebrity-favoured synagogue famously gave a hero’s welcome to media magnate Rupert Murdoch, who is not Jewish but is a strong supporter of Israel, when he visited in December.
It also welcomed Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher when they called Sydney home for several months during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The newlyweds exchanged vows under the chuppah, a religious canopy under which Jewish couples stand on their wedding day to symbolise the home they will build together.

The elite guest list included celebrity lawyer Bryan Wrench, who for the occasion dusted off his favourite double-breasted suit he is regularly seen wearing at court.

Fadi’s attendance comes after he avoided jail last June when a NSW judge ruled he had not knowingly possessed $600,000 in suspected proceeds of crime.
He walked free with a suspended sentence after pledging, ‘I will never again place myself in any situation where there is any doubt about where the money is coming from.’
But the real stars of the show – besides the bride and groom – were, of course, the big property players and cast of Luxe Listings Sydney, including TRG founder Gavin Rubinstein, superstar buyer’s agent Simon Cohen, Costi Cohen general manager Shani Costi, and TRG business manager Remi Lindsay.
Rubinstein, described by some in the Jewish community as Sydney’s most eligible bachelor, arrived without a lady on his arm, after Daily Mail Australia confirmed he had split from his model girlfriend Holly Young.
(As an aside, Ms Young was rumoured to have moved on with Sydney winemaker and serial entrepreneur Richie Harkham, a friend of Rubinstein’s.)
The wedding and its reception, held at the same synagogue, also played host to a handful of famous names in the medical and cosmetic world. They included Woollahra plastic surgeon Dr Shahram Shahidi, Laser Clinics Australia co-founder Babak Moini, and Q-Tox salon owner Kian Moini.
