Rochelle Humes was back on This Morning on Wednesday, following Holly Willoughby’s shock departure from the ITV show.
The Saturdays star was trending on X, previously known as Twitter, as she hosted the show alongside Craig Doyle.
After delivering a heartfelt message to Holly, Rochelle got stuck into her hosting duties, discussing the headlines of the day before presiding over more light-hearted affairs such as the daily gameshow Spin To Win.
Some viewers pointed out though that Rochelle’s upbeat demeanor doesn’t lend itself to the more serious subjects, which on Wednesday including discussing the headlines from Israel with regular contributor Vanessa Feltz.
‘Rochelle didn’t have a clue what they were talking about,’ tweeted one viewer during the segment.

Others were bemused as to the whereabouts of Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson who have regularly presented the show since Phillip Schofield departed earlier this year.
‘Why do we not have Josie? Her and Craig make the best duo. Rochelle is way out of her comfort zone when it comes to serious subjects.’
Other fans though have called for Rochelle to have a more permanent slot on the show.
‘Rochelle Humes and Ben Shepard as the main This Morning presenters,’ tweeted one.
‘I wouldn’t mind more of Rochelle and Andi Peters as a duo,’ suggested another.
Others suggested that Rochelle should present alongside her husband Marvin, with one tweeting: ‘If we’re putting out suggestions for new #ThisMorning hosts then may I propose Marvin and Rochelle and I know they’ve done it before so don’t start but I think they’ve grown so much with their presenting skills and they do REALLY well on The Hit List sorry!’
Rochelle currently has bookies’ odds at 10/1 to replace Holly.
The singer, who was catapulted to fame in girl band The Saturdays, regularly presents on This Morning, often appearing over the summer with co-host Andi Peters.

Rochelle is married to husband Marvin Humes, former member of JLS, and have had three children together – Alaia-Mai, 10, Valentina, six, and Blake, three.
The couple are co-hosts of the popular BBC Saturday night gameshow The Hit List, while Rochelle has also regularly co-presented family favourite Ninja Warrior UK which returns for season 5 next year.
MailOnline understands that Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard had been the favourite to join Holly when the show was due to be relaunched in January.
Alison Hammond has also emerged as a frontrunner with even odds for her to replace Holly.
