Wendy Williams’ guardian Sabrina Morrissey DENIES the star’s ‘prison’ claims and says she has lots of freedom

An attorney for Wendy Williams’ temporary financial guardian Sabrina Morrissey wants to set the record straight about her claims she’s ‘imprisoned’ at an assisted living facility in New York.

The 60-year-old elder law attorney was originally appointed by a Manhattan judge in 2022 after the 60-year-old presenter’s ex-manager Bernie Young reportedly raised concerns that she was of ‘unsound mind,’ which also led to Wells Fargo freezing her bank accounts.

That same judge declared Wendy legally incapacitated last August – a year after she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, but she sounded a lot like her old self in recent interviews as well as the Tubi documentary Saving Wendy.

Sabrina’s lawyer told TMZ on Wednesday that Williams is receiving ‘excellent medical care’ at the facility, which features a ‘spa, a workout room, excellent food, a dining room, and outside terraces.’

The five-time Daytime Emmy nominee claimed she can only leave the fifth floor memory unit with permission.

Morrisey’s rep said Wendy has lots of freedom and can call family and friends and see them whenever she wants despite her public claims she has not been allowed visitors.

They noted Williams traveled to Florida twice to see family, but the second trip to attend her father’s 94th birthday was nearly canceled by a judge until Saving Wendy was released.
