Luke Bradnam is reportedly set to replace Scarlett Johansson’s husband Colin Jost as the US’s 2024 Paris Olympics surfing correspondent in a last-minute shake-up.
Comedian Colin, 42, has been fronting NBC’s Olympic coverage live from the French Polynesian island Tahiti but is said to have stepped down from his duties.
Colin, who has been married to Hollywood star Scarlett since 2020, has reportedly been forced to jet back stateside, with Aussie weatherman Luke set to take over his duties.
TV presenter Luke has already been reporting live from Teahupo’o for Channel Nine and will now front NBC’s coverage in Sunday’s surfing shortboard finals.
‘I got a phone call as the surfing came back on line, it was literally just, ”Colin’s not able to work it, could you please fill in for us?”,’ Luke told the Sydney Morning Herald.
‘What the f**k? Sure. Now I’m doing these crosses, they’ve got no idea who I am. I’ve done three crosses already today and I’ve covered the Americans today.’
‘If I don’t get an invite to the NBC Christmas party after this, it won’t be pretty,’ he quipped.
He joked that he is unsure if American audiences can even understand his Australian accent as he shared his surprise at taking over the hosting gig.

Luke will be assisted by Channel Nine cameraman Jack Marriott while covering the rest of the Olympic surfing for NBC.
It remains unclear why Saturday Night Live star Colin will not be continuing as the channel’s surfing correspondent.
However, the news comes hours after it was confirmed that Colin is going to be the host of the upcoming Jeopardy! spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!.
The show, set to stream on Amazon Prime Video, will begin production next month, Variety reported.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Luke and Colin’s representatives for comment.
Colin has amused viewers with his humorous presenting style on the Olympic action, with his broadcasts full of tongue-in-cheek jokes and amusing antics.
However, he has also suffered an injury during his time in Tahiti after taking to a surfboard himself before the Olympics even began.

It comes after Colin suffered an injury during his time in Tahiti after hitting his foot on a sharp coral reef while surfing before the Olympics even began
Colin is best known for his role on Saturday Night Live, while he is also the husband of Hollywood megastar Scarlett (both pictured in 2024)
Colin revealed at the time that he had sustained a gruelling injury after hitting his foot on a sharp coral reef while trying his hand at surfing.
‘I did pretty well until the first wave, and then I ended up standing on the coral reef,’ he told NBC. ‘Much like the coral reef safety expert, but without coral shoes on. So I got a little scraped up.’
He also shared a photograph of his bloodied and bandaged toes to Instagram at the time and poked fun at his injury in an accompanying caption.
‘This might ruin my WikiFeet score but I just arrived in Tahiti for the surfing Olympics and the reef was excited to greet me #paris2024 #showfeet,’ he joked.
He was seen broadcasting barefoot after the injury, and revealed that he has had multiple visits to the medical tent since.
‘You know it’s going great when you’ve been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes,’ he shared on Instagram.
