She is expecting her first child with businessman Matthew Wardle, who she tied the knot with in July.

Alongside the post, Katie gushed: ‘Baby Wardle coming May 2024.’
In the comments section, her co-star Angela Griffin – who plays Kim Campbell on the school-based drama – wrote: ‘That is absolutely amazingly, beautifully gorgeous news! Best Christmas pressie ever.’
Katie’s baby news comes just months after she got married to her partner Matthew at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve in Kent in July.
She shared snaps from the special day to her Instagram, including a gorgeous snap of her leaving the venue with her new husband.
Katie looked stunning in a sheer bridal gown with floral embroidery for the ceremony before changing into a slip dress and platform trainers for her first dance.
The star and Matthew, who is CTO and Co-Founder of Fintech Company Kasko, beamed in the snap as friends and loved ones threw confetti over them.
She wrote: ‘The perfect day. Happy to now confirm I am married to the love of my life’.
Katie also uploaded the video of their first dance, which started out romantic and slow before the duo grooved to Jump On It and Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Katie landed the job in BBC’s Waterloo Road when she was 17 back in 2006.
She played Chlo Grainger for four series, and became a fan favourite for her whirlwind teenage romance with Donte Charles (Adam Thomas).
Katie left the show in 2009 but briefly reprised her role when the show was revived last year.
She said of her return at the time: ‘It’s been wonderful. It feels like coming back but also everything is different.
‘The set’s different. The classes are brand new, there’s a really exciting cast and some returning faces. So it’s been a bit of everything but it’s been lovely.’
Her character Chlo wasn’t on the new series for long, however, as she died in the first episode, leaving her childhood sweetheart and husband Donte Charles devastated.
Donte (Adam) has gone on to play a large role in the series revival along with their two children Izzy (Scarlett Thomas) and Tommy (Teddy Thomas).

Of her brief return, she told the Metro: ‘I was very intrigued from the start when the producers said they wanted the character back for one episode only, so in the days leading up to the meeting I was thinking what the storyline would be.
When they told me, I was of course shocked! It was a feeling of mixed emotions – excitement the show was coming back and being reunited with Adam and Angela but also sad as I wouldn’t be able to be as involved.’
Katie’s other acting credits include Rock and Chips and Hatfields and McCoys.
