has revealed was 'really surprised' he did not have an OBE already when he accepted the honour on Wednesday.

The actor, 56, was joined by his daughter Annabelle, 28, and son Harrison, 23, as he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to drama and charity.

In a video interview at Kensington Palace, Warwick revealed some of the chat he had with the Prince of Wales as he was given the OBE.

He said: 'The Prince of Wales said to me today, "have you got one of these already?" I said, "no, no." I was worried if I said yes, "well you're not having this one."

'He said, "I'm really surprised, I thought you had one already," which is really nice.'

Warwick, who began acting on camera when he was 11, told how he had no plans to be an actor as a child until an intervention from his grandmother.

'As a little person, you don't want to get forgotten about in the playground,' he said.

'I'd be a lot louder, a lot funnier than all my friends. I think that kind of trained me really for performance. I didn't really want to be an actor, I kind of came in to it through my grandmother.'

'At 11, I was a massive fan of Star Wars and she heard an announcement from Lucasfilm who were looking for short people to be in the new movie. That was my journey into that galaxy far, far away.'

The Harry Potter star founded Little People UK with his late wife Samantha in 2012 with the aim of providing support and advice to people with dwarfism.

'Probably about 10 years ago I founded Little People UK with my wife Sam,' he said.

'It's a wonderful thing to see people come together who only have one thing in common; share stories, share worries, share woes and share happiness.

'Someone with dwarfism is the exact same as everyone else except they're in a smaller body. They have the same dreams, same goals, same desire for love and happiness.'

Samantha died in 2024 as a result of a cardiac arrest following complications from an essential surgery.

Arriving for the ceremony, Warwick was seen conversing with Prince William as he accepted the honour, with his mystery woman and his children watching on.

Last year, the star paid tribute to a mystery woman for helping him to 'love again', but has only referred to her as 'Sponge'.

Speaking during his acceptance speech, after being awarded with the BAFTA Fellowship last year, he said: 'Special mention should go to Sponge, you know who you are.'

He added: 'Thank you for showing me that life can still have meaning and for helping me to laugh and to love again.'

Asked about the identity of 'Sponge' last year, Warwick said on The Jonathan Ross Show: 'I can reveal, sticking with the Harry Potter theme, Sponge is indeed She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.'

Referring to Daisy May Cooper's character, Kerry Mucklowe, from comedy series This Country, Warwick adds: 'Sponge very much reminds me of Kerry. Some of the things she says and her accent.'
