Viewers of A Place In the Sun are stunned by contestant’s sunburn and joke that he had been house hunting on Mercury: “I never thought a human could turn that color!”

A Place in the Sun viewers were shocked over one contestant’s sunburnt appearance during a recent episode.

Greg was house hunting on the Channel 4 show with his wife Reda for a house on Spain’s Costa Blanca.

The couple wanted to move to the hotspot permanently and had a budget of £100,000.

However, fans were distracted by Greg’s ‘painful looking’ appearance while chatting to host Lee Juggurnauth.

Greg sported a bright red complexion on screen, with his forehead being the worst affected.

Jonnie passed away on Friday after a brave three year fight with cancer , following his diagnosis with lung cancer in 2020.

The presenter hosted the property programme from 2004 to 2021, when he was forced to step down due to his terminal cancer diagnosis.

The show, which followed Danni Menzies helping house hunters in Manilva, Spain, was dedicated to Jonnie at the start.

The programme also aired a tribute after the credits with a photo which showed a younger Jonnie on the beach from one of the trips abroad.

It read: ‘In memory of Jonnie Irwin. 1973 – 2024.’ 

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays from 3pm on Channel 4.
