Jason Manford’s new game show The Answer Run has been slammed by fans as ‘cheaply-made nonsense’.
Viewers were left so disappointed by the show that they even begged the BBC to axe it after its first series ends.
The show, which landed on screens this month, follows contestants ‘battling it out to win a big prize by accumulating a succession of correct answers from 50/50 questions’.
The Morning Live star watches on as teams hope to win prizes from £50 to £500 and make their fortune.
Jason’s job is to guide the three pairs of contestants through ‘The Run’ as they navigate the fast-paced general knowledge questions.

Viewers have been left so disappointed by the show that they have begged the BBC to axe it and have taken to X to share their views
But the new show hasn’t hit the mark with viewers who branded it ‘nonsense’ and complained they couldn’t join in at home.
One viewer wrote: ‘The questions are too small as they scroll down. Needs a bigger version at the bottom of the screen for viewers at home. (Notes for series 2).’
Writing in agreement, one X user commented: ‘Totally agree, I can hardly read and being purple is not the best colour. The 1% Club made a similar error but corrected for series 2.’
While another said: ‘Hopefully, there won’t be a second series.’
A fourth viewer said: ‘Well, #TheAnswerRun has only been on 5mins & can already tell it’s yet another cheaply made nonsense! I bet they’ve put on yet ANOTHER repeat of #Pointless afterwards haven’t they too!’
As the show progressed, the rounds became more difficult, and at one point the questions each had two possible cash values.
The team’s success relied on their reflexes – swiping on the right answer at the right time to claim the prize.
Towards the end of the show, two duos faced off against each other and every wrong answer meant trading places for a 90-second round.

One team, Lucie and Dave, had viewers on the edge of their seats as they tried to grab the cash prize and take home the earnings they’d built up through the rest of the competition.
As the pressure mounted, Jason explained that their correct answers turned into golden blocks and luckily for the pair they answered enough correct answers to build up the blocks and reach the total prize of £5,900.
Teasing the brand new BBC game show, Jason said: ‘We had so much fun filming The Answer Run earlier this year and the contestants across each episode were brilliant!
‘I can’t wait for audiences to see it on screen this month and play along themselves at home.’
The Answer Run continues weekdays on BBC One from 4:30pm.
