David Beckham has revealed the meal he typically cooks for his wife Victoria during their cosy date nights in, despite the designer’s ‘disciplined’ diet that she’s sworn by for 25 years.
The footballer appeared on The Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, where he was asked about his dinner of choice when cooking for his wife.
David shared: ‘Well, Victoria always loves, she loves grilled shrimp, so for starter, I’d make her some grilled shrimp with avocado and then for a main I would make a seabass, but I’d salt bake it.’
Rio went onto ask: ‘And then for dessert, what would she have for desserts?’
David then added: ‘I’m not sure she’d have a dessert actually. So that’s what I’d make for her and then for me I’d make a nice ragu with fresh pasta.’

The former England star added that even when it comes to cooking, he’s still a perfectionist.
He said: ‘Well, since the documentary, everyone’s talked about the mushroom moment…. A lot of people like the care and consideration that I put into grilling a mushroom….
‘But that’s, you know I think if you’re going to do something, you’ve got to do it to the best of your abilities. And that’s the way I’ve always done things. And, even with cooking, I have to get it right.
‘I went through a stage last week when I was in Miami and I was with Sergio Busquets and we were talking about food and we were talking about Spanish food.
‘And he said, ”oh, I make a great Spanish omelette”… And I had it in my head to perfect the perfect Spanish omelette. And I made for a week, I made a Spanish omelette every day to perfect it…
‘But do you know what? It all comes from, it all comes from my mum. You know, that’s really where.
‘My mum used to let me cook with her when I was young. And then obviously when I moved to Manchester and I moved in my own house, you know, I cooked. And I love cooking….
‘But you know what? I love the cooking side, but I think more importantly, I think when I’ve looked back at why I love it so much, is because I’m creating something for whoever’s going to eat it.

Victoria has a famously limited diet but insisted in a recent chat with Grazia magazine that she wouldn’t go as far as to give up her beloved wine and she just wants to ‘have a nice time’
‘And it’s most of the time it’s my family and my kids and my wife. And I love seeing their reactions to the food. And most of the time it’s good reactions. But really, that’s really when I have all the family around me. And that’s what I love.
‘But, you know, I don’t just get excited about, you know, the Michelin star restaurants. I get excited about pie and mash. I get excited. about fish and chips, I mean I’m passionate about all foods it’s not just you know high-end restaurants.’

She did, however, admit her diet was ‘disciplined’, stating: ‘This is how I look. I’m going to make the best of it, work hard at it.
‘I’m very disciplined with the way that I eat, the way that I work out and the way I work. That’s just who I am.’
It perhaps undersells her extreme eating habits, with her husband David previously revealing that Victoria has eaten the same meal every single day for 25 years – grilled fish and steamed vegetables.
‘I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it,’ he said.
‘Unfortunately I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years!

The former England star added that even when it comes to cooking, he’s still a perfectionist, as he poked fun at the clip of himself grilling a mushroom in his recent Netflix documentary
‘Since I met her she only eats grilled fish [and] steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.
‘The only time she’s probably ever shared something that’s been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant with Harper and it was the most amazing thing.
‘It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was but I know she’s not eaten it since.’
In July, Victoria responded to this confession, telling Vogue Australia her husband made her tastes ‘sound boring’ when in fact she fills her diet with ‘healthy fat’ and regularly does detoxes where she abstains from drinking alcohol.
Victoria’s extreme diet has hit the headlines over the years, with Rio Ferdinand also giving an insight into her eating habits.
The retired English footballer, 44, is friends with Victoria’s husband David after playing football together at the World Cup and would sometimes dine with the couple during training.
While speaking to Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O, host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson admitted she was ‘obsessed’ with Victoria’s diet.
Rio responded: ‘I’ve never seen her eat anything. I don’t remember anything that sticks out of my memory, to be honest.’
