Victoria Beckham accidentally revealed a glaring error in the suit she designed for husband David’s Beckham investiture ceremony on Tuesday.
The designer, 51, is best known for svelte, feminine silhouettes intended to ‘form the basis of the modern woman’s wardrobe’.
Yet it seemed only fitting that she provided David’s ensemble for the ‘proudest’ moment of his life when he was knighted by King Charles.
At Sir David’s behest, the designer worked from old photos of Charles wearing an identical morning suit to create her first ever menswear piece for the Victoria Beckham Atelier range.
However, when showing off the suit in social media snaps, Victoria revealed that she had accidentally embroidered last year’s date on the label.
It read: ‘SDB [Sir David Beckham] Victoria Beckham 04.11.2024.’

A medium-weight construction, the three-piece look was crafted with the finest British wool mohair and embellished with a series of Royal flourishes, notably the distinctive lapel chain.
Former Manchester United and England legend David, 50, rounded off the look with a crisp white shirt, tie and polished black derby shoes.
Victoria, meanwhile, wore a custom version of her brand’s Bela dress for the investiture – perhaps symbolising the future of her fashion brand: a dual approach with clothing for both men and women.
Captioning a photo of herself alongside Sir David, taken at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, she wrote: ‘A day we’ll never forget.
‘David wears the first ever tailored menswear piece from the Victoria Beckham atelier – a bespoke three-piece morning suit in British wool mohair, inspired by the timeless sophistication of British royal style.
‘I’m so proud of you. Thankful for this moment and for my incredible team who worked so hard to bring the vision to life.’
Sir David was made a knight of the British empire for services to sport and charity, notably his impact on football over a twenty year period and subsequent ambassadorial role with UNICEF
Asked about his brief exchange with King Charles following the ceremony, the former footballer said: ‘He was quite impressed with my suit.’

Sir David admitted the tweed loving King had served as a somewhat unlikely inspiration for the suit, an elegant grey wool affair replete with single pleated trousers, tailed jacket and distinctive lapel chain.
‘He’s kind of the most elegantly dressed man that I know, so he inspired quite a few of my looks over the years and he definitely inspired this look,’ he explained.
‘It was something that my wife made me. I looked at old pictures of him when he was quite young in morning suits and I was like, OK, that’s what I want to wear, so I gave it to my wife and she did it.’
His look bore a striking resemblance to the morning suit favoured by Charles during an appearance at an Ascot polo tournament in 1979- right down to the finest details.
Ahead of Tuesday’s ceremony, Daily Mail revealed that the secret project of David’s suit began back in June, when the couple learned that the former Manchester United star would be knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours.
David went for several fittings at his wife’s atelier in her west London offices and is said to be ‘extremely happy’ with the results.
‘David teases Victoria that she never makes him any clothes,’ a friend of the couple told the Daily Mail.
From the pocket linings to the lapels, the fabrics to the waistcoat fob, Sir David Beckham ‘s morning suit mirrored King Charles at his very best as he became a knight of the British empire

‘So when they found out in the spring that David was going to get his big day at Windsor later in the year, Victoria decided that she had enough time to make it happen.
‘She has never done anything like this before and she was aware it would be time-consuming but Victoria knew the investiture would be some way off,’ a source explained.
‘Victoria got to work, designing the three-piece suit and, as she doesn’t do anything by halves, she threw herself into it and made sure it was absolutely perfect.
‘The fact that David is wearing a Victoria Beckham outfit will make a special day even more special.’
