Victoria Beckham discusses feud with Brooklyn and Nicola, defends ‘nepo baby’ label.

Victoria Beckham has spoken about the ‘changing dynamic’ in her family in a thinly-veiled remark about the ongoing feud with her son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz.

The fashion designer, 51, appeared on the Call Me Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper and spoke about her ‘close family’, but did not reference Brooklyn directly.

Victoria shared how she tries to create a ‘safe forum’ where her children are able to come and talk to her about any issues they may have.

She said: ‘I mean, we’re such a close family and, you know, communication is key and we always let them know that anything that they want to talk about, you know, this is a safe forum. You know, that’s really important.’

Pressed on how she and David deal with the changing dynamics in their family, she insisted: ‘Again, it’s just about communicating.

‘We’ve always been that way with the kids. And I’m excited for them, they’re all very different. They all like to do different things.’

Brooklyn is said to have become increasingly estranged from the family after failing to attend any of his father’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.

In what appeared to be an olive branch to her son and his wife, Victoria included footage of Brooklyn and Nicola in her docuseries, despite their estrangement.

In scenes filmed at Victoria’s September 2024 Paris Fashion Week show, the designer launched into an emotional monologue about her desire to make her family and colleagues proud.

The montage cut between images of Victoria’s collaborators, with Brooklyn and Nicola seen mingling with guests in the background.

The rest of Victoria’s family – husband David and kids Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, all get more screen time and were shown proudly sitting on the front row ready for the show.

On the topic of her children during the podcast, Victoria defended her offspring and it’s not fair that they get given the ‘nepo baby’ label.

Her eldest son Brooklyn has previously received some heat for his various career paths, which have included football, modeling, photography, and cooking.

Romeo has also dabbled in football, playing for Brentford B, and modelling, while her son Cruz is following in her footsteps as a singer.

Joining the discourse nepo babies, Victoria said: ‘Give the kids a chance. It’s not their It’s not their fault, you know, and I think to just give the kids a chance.

‘And our kids are genuinely all really good, sweet, kind human beings. You know, being kind is so important, hardworking. They don’t expect anything to just happen.’

Victoria’s comments about her close knit brood come after Brooklyn dodged questions about his mother’s Netflix documentary at an event in New York City.

Victoria was surrounded by her nearest and dearest at the recent screening for the show, before partying the night away in celebration – but there was one notable absence.

While Victoria and her inner circle gathered together for the occasion in London, Brooklyn and his wife Nicola were thousands of miles away in Beverly Hills.

Brooklyn avoided answering questions about his family at the Blue Moon Burger Bash 2.0 during the NYC Wine & Food Festival, which he hosted alongside Rachael Ray.

He was asked by a Daily Mail reporter what he thought about Victoria’s documentary, which he and Nicola appeared in.

Despite answering questions about other topics just moments earlier, Brooklyn quickly turned his back when he heard Victoria’s name and walked inside the venue.

He only answered a question about his food career. ‘[It’s] good. Just building Cloud23. I love it,’ he said, referring to his hot sauce brand.

Meanwhile, a friend of the Beckhams, Ana Navarro of The View, told Daily Mail as she was judging the burger event, ‘I want them to make up. I love David, I love Victoria. They are a great family. I don’t know what’s going on.

‘The Beckhams are close friends of close friends of mine. I’ve been watching [Victoria’s] movie on Netflix. I think she’s a great example of how to raise a family, be a mother, be a supporting spouse, craft your own identities, and be a successful businesswoman… I underestimated her.’

In September it was reported that Victoria had declared ‘enough is enough’ after months of heartache over the row

Victoria is said to have drawn a line in the sand and can no longer ‘keep fighting the same fight’.

According to a source, Victoria found filming her new show ‘liberating’ and it made her realise not only how much she was loved, but also convinced her that she and Brooklyn would eventually reunite.

‘It was very much a roller coaster of emotions because of the big thing that’s still affecting her, her fractured relationship with Brooklyn. But it also made her realise that she can’t keep raking over the heartbreak of this situation with him, enough is enough, now,’ a source said.

They went on to tell The Mirror‘She knows he will, one day, come back to her, but it’s just not the right time, that’s how she’s looking at it now, this project has made her realise how blessed she is to have her family around her and supporting her.

‘She found it very emotional but liberating at the same time,’ the source tells us. ‘It made her realise how much she is loved, how her family have supported her and got her through the ups and downs.

‘She still hopes she and Brooklyn will sort things out, of course she does, but at the same time, she can’t keep fighting the same fight’.
