Vicky Pattison ‘Terrified’ Her Syndrome Will Jeopardize Strictly Journey After I’m A Celeb Win

Vicky Pattison is reportedly ‘terrified’ her imposter syndrome will jeopardise her Strictly Come Dancing journey.

The Geordie Shore star, 37, has spoken in length about how her nerves have been taking over during the BBC dance competition – but it’s not the first time the pressure has proved too much.

Vicky soared to victory on the 15th series of I’m A Celebrity in 2015, however her imposter syndrome reportedly saw her ‘crumble’ after the newfound fame proved too ‘overwhelming’.

Now, the reality star is said to be scared the same thing will happen to her with Strictly.

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the star said: ‘Vicky has really struggled with this huge imposter syndrome and her confidence for years, since winning the jungle.

‘She came home to such fanfare, she was making a fortune and landing all these massive and amazing new jobs like becoming a Loose Woman – it was huge for little Vicky off Geordie Shore, she just couldn’t believe it.

‘But it was so overwhelming for her she just crumbled, she really struggled behind the scenes because she didn’t believe she was good enough to be there.’

The source went on to add that Vicky is ‘terrified’ she will crumble again with the pressure and spotlight of Strictly.

The Daily Mail has contacted Vicky’s representatives for comment.

Earlier this week Vicky admitted a wardrobe blunder left her feeling stressed during her most recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing last weekend.

Vicky and dance partner Kai Widdrington, 30, performed a Great Gatsby themed Charleston for the Movie Week special.

Kai went on to appear on the latest episode of the Get A Grip podcast with Vicky and her co-host Angela Scalon, and he mentioned how she should talk about how their rehearsals went.

Discussing an unaired moment, Vicky said: ‘Saturday was just like a disaster from start to finish.

‘You know me little headdress thing, obviously I had a wig as well. Yeah. So they put that on…

‘We were dancing the dress rehearsal. And obviously there’s a move where me head goes down and comes up, and the head piece just totally like detached from the wig and fell over me face.

‘And I kept trying to shove it up, and it just kept falling back over my eyes. Kai’s going “continue carry on”. And, honestly, I was so stressed out and angry, I tried to stop.

‘And then when I was finished, that is in the official dress rehearsal, Tess goes “Oh, you had a bit of stress there with your head piece there”.

‘I says, “me f**king wig fell off!”‘

Before they went live in front of the nation, the team attached the head piece to Vicky’s wig.

Elsewhere, Vicky opened up about how she feels about her Strictly co-stars – and her exciting plans for after the show.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Vicky said that despite fierce competition every Saturday night, the cast ‘all get along’.

Vicky also shared insight into what it’s like to film the BBC show.

Although stars are pitted against each other in the weekly dance battles, Vicky insisted that there is ‘zero competition’ between her and the other celebrities.

‘I just feel like they’re my family, I love them so much. George Clark texts me every day, Ross King holds my hand when I’m nervous, and Chris Robshaw scoops me up in a bear hug every time he sees us.

‘I’m obviously a really nervous person and struggle with being out of my comfort zone.

‘I don’t want to harp on about it because everyone’s bored of hearing about my nerves but I am finding it hard and going through it with them is making it easier.’

Friends Pete Wicks and Angela Scanlon have previously been on the show, but it took going on herself to realise just how challenging it can be.

‘I didn’t think I was deserving of being on a show that’s so lovely and wholesome,’ she said, adding that ‘the feeling of joy’ was ‘wild’.
