Vicky McClure and the cast of This Is England reunite, sparking rumors of a new series

This is England fans have been left convinced a new series could be in the works after the cast and crew including Vicky McClure and creator Shane Meadows enjoyed a Christmas catch up on Thursday.

Thomas Turgoose, 31, who played Shaun Fields in the iconic drama, took to Instagram with a snap of his colleagues as they all enjoyed all beamed for the camera while enjoying a meal at a restaurant.

The 2006 film This is England, was a huge success and led to three subsequent TV series focusing on the characters in the years 86, 88 and 1990, which ended in 2015.

Thomas captioned the black and white snap: ‘This Is England Christmas nights out’.

Fans were sent wild by the reunion and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in their droves with one writing: ‘Confirming a new season for us?!’.

While a second wrote: ‘We need that film’.

And a third begged: ‘Just announce the new series all ready’.

Someone else typed: ‘Just one more series pleaseeee’.

With another writing: ‘Man, you guys need to collaborate again’. 

Earlier this month Vicky was made an Member of the Order of the British Empire [MBE] by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

The actress, 40, was given the honour, which recognises services to drama and to charity. 

The British actress wore a wool broad Versace shoulder coat worn over a grain de poudre double-breasted hourglass tailored jacket with signature Medusa buttons and tailoring label detail and matching tailored Bermuda shorts from the Fall-Winter 2023 collection.

They were also joined by director and creator Shane Meadows

She carried a Greca Goddess bag and Pin-Point knee-high boots by the label to complete the look which had an edgy metal heel.

Vicky wore an animated smile on her face as the king uttered a few words to her, before he pinned the award to her jacket. 

Vicky, who played Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in Line Of Duty is soon to be  starring in the second season of TV series Trigger Point.

The crime series sees Vicky play ex-military bomb disposal expert Lana Washington, an Afghan war veteran now leading the Metropolitan Police bomb squad.

The crime drama centres on Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad officers who risk their lives daily on ‘the long walk’ towards danger. 

The drama followed a teen who is taken under the wing by a group of skinheads in the Midlands

Stephen Graham who played ringleader Combo (pictured) was notibly absent from the reunion

Trigger Point was written by screenwriting newcomer Daniel Brierley and produced by Jed’s HTM Television.

Series one focused on a terrorist campaign that threatened the capital over the summer with the bomb disposal operatives or ‘Expos’, at the forefront of urgent efforts to find out who is behind the bombings before fatalities escalate.

Nearly 11 million viewers watched the first episode and the series averaged 9.24 million viewers per episodes 1-4, as the audience enjoyed the series on ITV, ITV Hub and BritBox.

Season 2 will see Lana and her officers up against a terrorist group targeting London, leaving clues for them to find as they prepare to attack in different locations.
